Bringing this 20’ish year old board back to life!
This HAD to be one of the earlier prototypes, I had to re-route a bit and repair quite a few broken/cut traces.
I am unsure of the true origin of the 2 TOR-TOR boards that I have - there is only 1 single image of a wooden bow/antler with 2 mics on it (one on each end of the bow/antlers) but it shows nothing of the electronic portions.
I do know TOR-TOR was on the site very shortly before the cocolase appeared, and there was originally intent to release this as a kit.
The arrangement of the Delays is very neat when compared to the completely separated delays featured on the later models.
There are no address latches for the SKIP function, so this one actually does “reset” back to the start of the loop.
The databus between the 2 delays are interconnected - the best way to say it is where the address lines coming from the binary counters on one delay usually head to the flip-flops, they instead head over to the databus of the other delay!
The central NABRA is very similar to that which wound up in the cocolase, Peter called this the SIDRASSI, an interconnected nest of 8 oscillators.
In this rendition it seems that the oscillators FM one another continually in a crazy rats nest of routings found near the lower portion of the board.
I am very excited about this one!
