It's that time of year again?
I mean, yes, it's close to the holiday, but it's also about the time CicLAvia hosts its Sunday open streets events. This time around, CicLAvia opened MLK Jr. Boulevard., Central Avenue, and 103rd Street to foot traffic and non-motor vehicles.
On the journey I had a chance to check out a couple of prominent places, including the Masjid Bilal Islamic Center, Dunbar Hotel, Central Avenue Jazz Park, the new Kaiser Health and Counseling building, and the historic fire house in Watts.
It's not often South LA gets the spotlight for citywide events, so I thoroughly enjoyed reclaiming the streets and taking my time admiring the street for what it is today.
