Traditional Chicken Boti Kebab Recipe
Ingredients:
500 grams boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 cup yogurt
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Salt to taste
Skewers (wooden or metal)
Instructions:
Marinate the Chicken:
In a large bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, oil, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt.
Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for best results.
Prepare the Skewers:
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning.
Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.
Cook the Kebabs:
Grill Method: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the skewers on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning once midway, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned.
Serve:
Serve the chicken boti kebabs hot with naan or rice, along with a side of mint chutney and a salad.
