Cinderella belongs to the strict canon of children's literature. The tale tells the story of a beautiful girl forced to be a housemaid by her stepmother and half-sisters. Cinderella's fate changes when her fairy godmother transforms a pumpkin into a carriage, her rags into a beautiful gown and sends her to a ball where she meets a prince. However, the fairy warns her: The wonderful spell will cease at midnight. Will Cinderella heed the warning and leave the ball before it’s too late? Will the prince be able to recognize Cinderella in her rags as the beautiful princess he met and fell in love with at the ball?
In this beautiful, artistic and very literary staging, the famous fairy tale of Charles Perrault finds all its fascinating charm and depth. The youngest viewers, entranced by the graceful and poetic animation, listening to the actors’ musical interpretation, will find Cinderella even more real than in a book.
Cinderella is not only the most popular fairy tale of all times. The story has deep psychological and therapeutic values, which have been pointed out by many child psychologists, including Bruno Bettelheim. Understanding the elusive desire that arises during adolescence, channeling it in the right direction, as well as overcoming the fear of having to leave one’s family home to enter adult life, accompanies all girls and is in the final stage of childhood one of the most difficult emotional states to understand. Charles Perrault's fairy tale reveals the true face of elusive desires and feelings, and thus allows young readers to understand their desires and find inner peace and happiness.
Cinderella is a suggested reading for grades 1 to 3.
