This is the rare original area music for Cinderella's Golden Carrousel at Magic Kingdom (Now known as Prince Charming Regal Carrousel). This audio was a Band Organ that played from the opening of Walt Disney World on October 1, 1971, until either 1983 or 1984. This Band Organ used the exact same music that was first used on the Disneyland Carrousel Band Organ from 1968-1982. This music has also been used at Tokyo Disneyland since 1983. For many years, this audio was not available online. That changed when a couple guests uploaded live recordings of this audio in recent years from Tokyo. The live audio in this video was originally uploaded by Dl. fn. That video is linked below. The its a small world and Chim Chim Cher-ee segments are the only ones where I was able to find the actual source audio online. These were released on a Tokyo Disneyland CD. c.1983-84, this audio was replaced with the version from Disneyland's 1983 New Fantasyland. That audio played until 1993 when they replaced it with the Disneyland Paris version. Some of those tracks still play today, but sadly they made the loop a lot shorter in 2012, supposedly to tie in with Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland. The 2012 version still plays today. Cinderellas Golden Carrousel stayed very much the same visually for over 20 years after opening in 1971. When it opened, it was the first version to feature the all white horses that are now standard on Disney Carrousels in four Castle parks, except for Paris and Shanghai. It features artwork depicting scenes from Walt Disney's 1950 animated classic Cinderella. This fits well behind Cinderella Castle. The all white horses would come to Disneyland in 1975, as well as their own Sleeping Beauty art. The top canopy featured a largely white design with black ornamentations from 1971-1996. The Skyway passed over the Carrousel from 1971-99. Only on the Skyway, Space Mountain could be seen from this part of Fantasyland. In the 1973 photo at 4:57, the early construction of Space Mountain can be seen, and in the late 1974 photo at 6:23, the newly completed Space Mountain building is clearly visible. To the west was Mickey Mouse Revue (1971-80), which closed due to the animatronics being shipped to Tokyo, and the theater was left vacant aside from seasonal Disney cartoons as Fantasyland Theater (1980-87). Since then the theater has hosted Magic Journeys (1987-93), Legend of the Lion King (1994-2002), and Mickey's Philharmagic (2003). To the northwest have always been fellow classics it's a small world and Peter Pan's Flight (1971), and Pinocchio's Village Haus (1971). To the northeast were two of the most missed Magic Kingdom attractions, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1971-94) and Mr Toad's Wild Ride (1971-98), and to the west was another missed classic, the original version of Snow White's Adventures (1971-94). I hope you enjoy this classic audio!
I do not own any of the audio or images in this video. All images are owned by their respective owners. All audio is owned by Disney, and special credit to Dl. fn for recording this audio at Tokyo Disneyland's Castle Carousel.
