I have a bit of a soft spot for Moonraker. Growing up in the Star Wars era, I was squarely in the target audience for spaceships, lasers and explosions, and never noticed it being any more silly than the other Bonds. While it's hardly considered a classic today, the fantastic miniature effects by Derek Meddings and John Barry's score make it a worthwhile watch, even if you need to suspend your disbelief even more than usual.
The Bond movies from the 1960s to 80s had a pretty steady release pattern, with United Artists releasing a new instalment every couple of years through (mainly) the Rank Odeon chain. Here's what you might have seen there in summer 1979, including the film's supporting short Flare - a Ski Trip, directed by Sam Neill (yep, that Sam Neill) and thankfully preserved by @archivesnz.
