Great comparison. Very excited to this & way to be ahead of the rest with this lens. I really like the Fujinon though. Nice clean contrasty clinical look. But that price of the OOOM is hard to beat for what they offer. Keep up the great work subbed.

Thanks for the video🙏 The Fuji was not really on my radar yet. Ich though the Laowa was not quite wide enough but the 5mm less on the Fuji sold it to me now. But I have still one question: this duclos Adapter thing...how is it named? Could you possibly add a link to duclos for it? Cheers

You're welcome! The Fuji is a great lens. It's one of those lenses, that's a bit underrated I think because of the T3.2, but I've found it to be extremely versatile and sharp. A great lens. Here's the link to the Duclos EF adapter: www.ducloslenses.com/collections/mounts/products/cabrioefkit - If you're interested in buying one, we may have a spare one for sale as well.

Does the OOOM cover the entire image on the Alexa in UHD, or does it vignette like the FUJI on the wide end?
@FilmJams

Yes it does cover the sensor in UHD. If it vignettes I didn’t notice it. It’s also not as wide as the Fuji by 5mm so that may be helping it.

Film Jams I heard you’re working on a video on the DZO, actually found this video while trying to find reviews on the DZO zoom. How do you like the DZO compared to the Venus optics ? I think the Venus has nicer flare...
@FilmJams
4 жыл бұрын
@@premiumparis Ahh nice! Yes we shot the DZO zoom video...it will be coming out next Friday or Saturday.. They're really nice lenses. I was pleasantly surprised with them. We compared to the Angenieux Optimo 16-42 and the Sigma 18-35 zooms. I think compared to the Venus Optics Laowa 25-100mm lens, the Laowa is a bit softer, but it does flare better. I think the advantage of the DZO zooms is they are lighter, sharper, and less expensive (1/2 the price), but you get less focal range, and flares not quite as nice. Hope that helps! And glad you found us! And hopefully you will see the DZO video next week and let us know what you think :D

I mean if I'm buying a zoom that's like buying a set that's not an expense I do every year or even 3 I will want to get the best possible lens for the money and 10000 isn't much if you compare it to an equivalent lens set .

Very true! Investing in quality glass can be a long term benefit. It’s something that doesn’t go out of style as quickly as cameras. That’s for sure! Thanks for watching.

Yeah if you want sharp the Laowa is not your lens! Fuji is very sharp but can feel a little clinical sometimes. We shot our last feature on the Fuji and always had Hollywood Black Magic filter in front of it. Which softens it nicely.
