Thank you so much for this incredible master class!!! I have literally spent two full days working through this one video, over and over, and over, implementing the technique with different chords, arpeggio patterns, and rhythms/ time sigs, learning and memorising it fully. I also want to say thank you so much for taking the time to add English subtitles, they were incredibly helpful in understanding. I look forward to watching the rest of your lectures. Best wishes, your new subscriber.

Teacher Rovshan. First of all, I would like to thank you for these lessons! Your videos help me a lot!!! Thank you so much. . Could you explain how to change textures with efficiency? The parameters involved and that need to be taken into account to the changes of textures sounds well in orchestra? Since now, thank you so much!

I happy it was useful for you. The progression of the different textures are should be like this: instruments that are on the melody in the first texture (phrase A) should take harmonic background In the second texture (phrase B). In this case, instruments that play the harmonic background in the first texture will play the melody in the second texture. Of course, I will make a new video about ABA form and it's orchestration.

@@thesecretsoforchestration Great! I thank you. Could you talk about change of types os textures too? From a homophonic and massive texture for a monophonic line, or vice-versa; or then from a chordal texture to a homophonic texture and so on? Once more, thank you so much!

Could you explain your choice of notes for the quarter notes played by the Oboes ? @11:00 Here's my understanding for the last 2 beats : they are extracted from Bbm and Dm. But what about the 1st beat (A and Gb ; it would hint at F#m or D) ?

Hi dear Julien, thanks for the question. I didn't explain this figure as described in previous course lectures. So, This figure is made by following the "stretch-basic" method which is based on scale tones, not the chord. I just used arpeggiated the A, C#, and F. Then add the extension-chordal for the second voices below the 1st oboe. Any tone of the scale can be used in chordal extension.

Very interesting, thank you. One question please: 5:50 why is 3. bar, 3. note D and not C#?
@thesecretsoforchestration

If you mean the 2nd staff of the 3rd bar, this is retrograde of the upper bar.
@thomasgreiner3726
4 ай бұрын
@@thesecretsoforchestration yes, because in first staff you have C# F A, also at timepoint 3 in the same bar. But in 2nd stuff at timepoint 3 A F C# an at timepoint 1 A F D.

@@thomasgreiner3726 You'd better watch the 4:30. The retrograde means that you should start from the last note of the bar and go back to the beginning.
