Just made one for my Dewalt. Use 3/4 pvc. Made it a little longer and added a bend so I can aim the vacuum hose in the same direction as the power cord. I’ll tether them together with Velcro wraps. Awesome!

Thank you so much 😊 took me just under an hour to make one for my dewalt. (Yes, I’m a bit slow!) I had already spent hours online trying to find the right dust port to buy! Simple and effective solution, keep it up 👍

Amazing DIY! Will try this on my Milwaukee. Saw your Blade Guard Handle "bumping up" against your Custom PVC Mod. On my Circular Saw, I may be able to add some kind of "spacer" to extend that handle out a bit to clear the vacuum pipes.

Great idea. It needs to be angle back or have an elbow on it so you have clearance for the hose when cutting sheet goods.

My Makita circular saw came with a dust port, but is a non-standard size and I just can not find anything fit. Now I know what to do. Thank very much.

I'dl like to try this - what are you using to soften the pvc to make it bendable?

Couldn't a pillow case, plastic milk jug or some other common item be secured to the circular saw tube attachment to collect dust blown out?

I used two metal screws to hold PVC and aluminum housing together. Durability is a concern. Since I'm not a heavy user, it looks very good so far. I like the modification. Thanks.

Interesting video. I don't own a heat gun, but I have a professional blow dryer and a gas stovetop. Is there another way to heat the PVC to get this to work, without killing the PVC and starting a fire?
@fearlessdoer

I tried to use a hair drier but it doesn't produce enough heat. A $15 heater from harbor freight is really help if there one near you.

300F oven or toaster oven for ~ 5 minutes makes the pvc pliable put on a piece of aluminum foil.

It might hold it for a few cuts but you really need a screw to hold it down good.

If you have time for it to cure, use 3M 5200. It's a marine urethane and holds like...well, like glue. It's very good but spendy.

Its all fun when you searching circular saw for your 1st time untill you realize later most of them not included with dust port and it cost 1/5 of the price of the device.

Maybe regulations are needed for circular saw and other woodworking tools which generate sawdust to harm operator's health, like vehicle emission law.

@@fearlessdoer yeah think so..or maybe they want slap more from customer..i mean like browsing for dust for my circular saw..it cost me 320MYR maybe around 100USD..and the dust port that i look cost about 60-70MYR/20USD...it just a little fucking tiny plastic with a hole and a little bit of clamp mechanism..Even the cheap PVC water PIPE has better strength than that plastic
