Andy wanted to complete a Bamford Edge circular Walk, I wanted to do a Stanage Edge walk, so we found a Peak District Circular walk that would take in both. To begin with, we headed towards Bamford Edge with its stunning views down onto the Ladybower Reservoir and the very pretty Ashopton Viaduct. We followed the curve of the hillside which took us eventually round and onto Bamford Moor with its interesting stone structures, and with a real push, we went up onto Stanage Edge to eat lunch with a spectacular view across the Hope valley. After lunch, we walked part of the way back ontop of Stanage Edge, and dropped down so we were also experiencing the trail from the foot of the rocks - watching on as people rock climbed. A little perplexed by the Millstones at Stanage edge, we decided to make the walk a little longer than the one suggested on the All Trails App with a there and back detour out to Robin Hood's Cave, below Stanage Edge - but accessed from the Peak District ridge walk trail above. There was nothing overly taxing about the trail - nothing technical or with a need for scrambling, so in some senses, I would say it was an easy Peak District walk, but having taken a bit of a break since hiking last, and the longer distance, it maybe was bordering on being a moderate Peak District hike.
