When doing CW and CCW circular routes for any city transit, I think it's a good idea to use lighter and darker shades of the same colour. So, for instance, light red and dark red. So you can still tell them apart, but at the same time you can know that they are related just visually. Just an idea I'm throwing out there.

So regarding the traffic, there is something that wasn't a part of the first game and doesn't seem to be a feature in this one either, which is what we call "slip lanes" locally. If you were approaching an intersection and turning left, instead of having to stop at the intersection, there is a dedicated lane that bypasses the intersection that you can take, kind of like an off-ramp on a highway, but they can be found on even the smallest residential roads, they essentially allow you to "cut the corner" of the intersection, reducing traffic because you don't have to wait for people who are not turning to move out of the way, you can just take the slip lane and carry on, and similarly, if you are going straight, you don't need to wait for people that are turning to slow down and turn, you can just drive on. I don't know if it would be difficult to implement "manually" in the game, given how the roads are placed in, but I am curios if it would make a difference to traffic if you did put them in. Also, great work, I am loving the new series, keep up the good work, and leave the big bridge in, it looks cool.
@memediatek

I do think that one bridge isn’t really in it’s optimal position. Technically it could be done, this is just a river, while Öresundsbron between Sweden and Denmark or the hypothetical Sicilian bridge are a whole lot longer and deeper but still existent and planned/discussed. The game is that badly optimised it reminded me of playing RCT2, as that's how far you have to drop the settings to get it to run. Steam reviews are 80% negative if not more. I have a decent system as do many people in the reviews. Biffa, what are you using to run this? And at what settings as thousands of people who are very disappointed with the Devs would like to know. Also the Devs releasing an update post telling people to drop to 1080p and pretty much disable all settings, is a clear indication that they have well and truly balls this one up.

And yet they still released it on steam and are heavily advertising pre-orders. Have a look at the reviews. It may well just be the publisher or execs getting the game out before its ready, but this is typical AAA game bull these days. Release a broken game, rake in the money and maybe, just maybe, fix it later. Half the time they never enter a particularly playable state, especially pc ports. Turn zone cell length snapping back on. For small roads, the new “10u” length for creating perfect grids is 112 meters. For medium roads, it’s 120m. Drag your road out 112m from your staring point 90* perpendicular to your staring road, place it. I like to rotate 90* then make the next segment 224m. Doing this keeps the grid in a nice 1:2 ratio. I would personally build bridges where the gap between the land is the shortest. More realistic, cost effective, and requires me to adapt my city to the land.

Just wondering how the game handles building on hills/mountains/etc? I've seen a few vids now and all cities are flat (obviously easier to do it that way) but maybe not that realistic/pretty? Can you build a city with hills etc and still make it look OK or do buildings fold/distort? Love your vids :)

OverchargedEgg was discussing how to do this and make it look good recently. I think it was in his new play through, but it might have been the road or landscaping tutorials. I ended up watching them all close to each other, sorry I can’t be more specific. He did make it look nice though. I live in a mountain town so I’ve been trying to get a good-looking town with houses in the mountain for some time. I might actually achieve it this time around. HTH!

The long bridge needs to become a large bridge, so buy the large bridges with your 8 points!

The long bridge does look odd there, because building across the widest stretch of water means that your local government has chosen the most expensive option... something that rarely goes down well with taxpayers. So if you want to keep it, you could take a page out of CPP's book, and come up with an in-game explanation (possibly involving crooked politicians) for why that choice was made.

Would keep the long bridge, it's one of those things that can become an iconic monument over time. Grab the University(name it after the bridge) and the hospital if possible. Name suggestion for the new farmland area The Fields for the place tea grows in. Love the series so far and the little extra sparkle in your voice

I love the details within CS:2 just look at the bus depot. It said it houses 25 busses, and outside there were 25 bus parking spots. It's the little things like that, that make the game better

I've explained this many times, but what's one more.... Prior to release, we were told we had a beta version. Beta usually means feature complete but not 100% bug free or final performance. We expected a lot more to get fixed and better performance before release. Our initial 3 videos were all in the beta version, and we were told not to discuss performance. Why would we? We were told it is the beta version! Also, once it was released, I personally didn't have performance issues, until weeks later, when I tried to fix a viewers 250k pop city. But by then, CO had already publicly admitted performance issues and that they were working on them. I didn't hide anything and I've spoken about performance and bugs as they come up in my videos many times. Not quite sure what else you wanted from me... 🤷♂️

Love all your videos! Please make it so when you unlock trains, that you have a bus service which follows the train line as a rail replacement service, but make it 10x longer than needed with random waypoints. Will remind me of home in Auckland NZ.

If you go an European style city, keep in mind we do not have that many open parking lots in the city itself, but usually underground ones. Or try placing parking lots at the outskirts of your city, with busses/trams to the centre of your city.

So here's something I've not seen anyone do yet (they may well have) take two parallel roads or paths 3 or 4 width apart and place them from one water source to the ocean or another river. Dig out the middle and relay the road to get perfectly walled rivers to run through your cities

50:30 lol even a game that is mainly directed at a urbanists fan base cant hide the fact that paid parkings make a lot of money for the city in real life 1 parking spot (a patch of 5x2m of asphalt) makes 87 000$ per year when its 10$ per 1 hour and it only needs resurfacing every 30 years because of the weather

41:43 why not add an artificial island like “Treasure Island” in the Bay Area, and have a shorter bridge in each side? You can even set it up as an industrial area that over time gets updated as a high-end medium density residential hot spot.

Screw realism, dont make it so unrealistic it looks silly, but a healthy amount of creavity (without regards to the laws of engineering) makes the difference. If you really want realism I think it would be an exciting challenge to devote a city to

As you can imagine, I downloaded and installed CS2. I discovered that we can add power to highways by placing street lights. This puts the 40 W (low power) powerlines on the roads that we can then tap elsewhere as needed. This will save placing power lines across large bodies of water.
