I'm in love with this car. I'm a huge Fan of the Mercedes of the 80's and 90's-00's but damn, the C6 has to be my next car.

RO06 HRF. This was my first C6, and I spent more than £4000, plus a great deal of love and attention in keeping this lovely old girl running well for three and a half years... I bought that VRM from DVLA, then let it go with the car. I hope she’s currently well cared for!

@@bradleyjamesclassics: I wasn’t living in the UK very much at the time, so she was registered at my UK correspondence address where I live when ‘at home’ (I’m a yachtie), so the V5C will show my best friend’s name as a PO, initials MSS. MW bought the car... I think she’d covered 113,000-ish miles at that time. Tom Ford drove her, on Fifth Gear, chauffeuring Tiff and getting the tyres “shot out”! She was a Citroën press car at that time, as were several RO06 HR? cars. I hope she’s still only fed a diet of premium diesel! I brought the DPF back to life through sheer diligence and dedication. DPF cars should *never* be constantly run on ‘normal’ diesel fuel...

I was looking for a used car in 2010. Torn between one of these and a 5 Series BMW. Bought the BMW, and with no regrets, though I secretly yearned for the C6's quirkiness and unique blend of comfort and agility. The BMW was a good car to own, reliable and economical. I suspect the C6 could have been more of a liability, but personally I think that's a risk I should have taken. No chance of getting one now, they're rare as hen's teeth.

I got the Petrol, in the City it is atrocious but you can get around with 10l /100km, sorry no MPG present. The City consumption is very easy to solve, take the bicycle the car does not like short trips anyway, those do not feel right!

This car is like a classic, has been for a couple of years, simply because demand exceeds supply. Not because the demand is astronomical in size, more down to the fact very few ever existed and then the new road tax rules killed it off. Real shame because because it has a real neo-retro feel to the look, it should have been in the film Anon with Clive Owen as one of those exotic looking mysterious cars. Never driven one but done a casual search for a petrol model many times. It's easier to find a BMW E30 from the 1980s near me than to find one of these with a diesel engine.....and I don't want a diesel engine. This car along with the Nissan Murrano are real out there cars for the manufacturer that are just too hard to find with a petrol engine, pot luck if you ever find one of either.

My C6 2.7 diesel would give 38mpg at best for motorway cruising. General use was 28mpg. Repairs and servicing were not cheap but over 2 years, it was very reliable and marvellous to drive. We needed a 4x4 when we moved house, so she had to go.

In my opinion the orange spanner light is a warning light, it’s warning you that a service is overdue and that’s a serious warning on a complicated car. In my experience used cars with service lights on do suggest a lack of routine maintenance, and many sellers claim that it’s “only” because it’s done so few miles. Service intervals are shown in months and/or miles for good reason. No doubt the seller will offer a full service on completion of the sale, which is a bit like saying a car that is for sale will come with a full MOT
