Citron pickle is a sour pickle with lots of medicinal value, aids digestion and removes the bitterness in the tongue. It can be served with curd rice.
INGREDIENTS:
Oil 2-3 tsp
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Cumin seeds ½ tsp
Dry red chillies 3-4 nos
Asafoetida 1-2 pinch
Curry leaves 1 spring
Fenugreek ½ tsp
Citron 1 nos
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
Salt To taste
METHOD:
1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies, asafoetida, curry leaves and saute it, switch off flame.
2. Roast the fenugreek and transfer into mixie jar to make powder.
3. Cut citron into small pieces and transfer into a bowl.
4. Add fenugreek powder, red chilly powder, salt and mix slightly.
5. Add above tempering and mix it.
6. Now citron pickle is ready to serve with any curd rice or any rice.
