Here are the languages everyone speaks: Theodore Roosevelt (America) - American English Saladin (Arabia) - Arabic John Curtin (Australia) - Australian English Montezuma (Aztecs) - Classical Nahuatl Hammurabi (Babylon) - Akkadian Pedro II (Brazil) - Brazilian Portuguese Basil II (Byzantium) - Modern Greek (interestingly, he seems to speak a mix between Attic and Koiné, which makes sense since his native language, Medieval Greek, is identical in pronunciation to Modern Greek, but most scholars preferred to speak the ancient Attic tongue) Wilfrid Laurier (Canada) - English and French Qin Shi Huang (China) - Mandarin (with Classical influences) Poundmaker (Cree) - Cree Cleopatra (Egypt) - Middle Egyptian (even though Koiné Greek was actually her native language, she was also fluent in Demotic, a form of Egyptian that was spoken at the time) Victoria (England) - British English Eleanor of Aquitaine (England + France) - Occitan Menelik II (Ethiopia) - Amharic Catherine de Medici (France) - French and Italian (her French has a noticeable Italian accent, and her Italian is of her native Florentine dialect) Ambiorix (Gaul) - Gaulish (An ancient Celtic language. This is reconstructed form that also happens to have a French accent) Tamar (Georgia) - Georgian Frederick Barbarossa (Germany) - Middle High German (the main language of the Holy Roman Empire alongside Latin). Simón Bolívar (Gran Colombia) - Latin American Spanish (he speaks a neutralized form of the dialect). Gorgo (Greece) - Doric Pericles (Greece) - Attic Matthias Corvinus (Hungary) - Medieval Hungarian Pachacuti (Inca) - Quechua Chandragupta (India) - Pali Gandhi (India) - Hindi and English Gitarja (Indonesia) - Modern Javanese Hojo Tokimune (Japan) - Classical Japanese Jayavarman VII (Khmer) - Khmer Mvemba a Nzinga (Kongo) - Lingala Soendeok (Korea) - Korean Alexander (Macedon) - Attic (his native language would have been Ancient Macedonian, a register of Ancient Greek which is unrelated to Modern Macedonian, which is a Slavic language) Mansa Musa (Mali) - Arabic Kupe (Maori) - Maori Lautaro (Mapuche) - Mapudungun Lady Six Sky (Maya) - Mayan (probably Yucatec Maya) Genghis Khan (Mongolia) - Mongolian Kublai Khan (Mongolia + China) - Mongolian Wilhelmina (Netherlands) - Dutch Harald Hardrada (Norway) - Old Norse (his rendition of Old Norse has significant Icelandic influences due to the uncertainty of the pronunciation of certain letters) Amanitore (Nubia) - Nubian Suleiman (Ottomans) - Ottoman Turkish Cyrus (Persia) - Middle Persian Dido (Phoenicia) - Phoenician Jadwiga (Poland) - Polish Trajan (Rome) - Classical Latin Peter (Russia) - Russian Robert the Bruce (Scotland) - Early Scots / Middle English Tomyris (Scythia) - Ossetian (This is the closest living relative of the Scythian language, which would have been Tomyris' native tongue) Philip II (Spain) - Castilian Spanish Gilgamesh (Sumeria) - Old Akkadian (his native tongue was actually Sumerian) Kristina (Sweden) - Swedish Bà Triệu (Vietnam) - Vietnamese Shaka (Zulus) - Zulu

Some of the languages they were able to find actors for is quite impressive. Mapudungun is spoken by no more then 250k people as of 2007. Or the effort of the dialects they found. They didn't have to put in the effort to make the Spartan and Athenian Greeks speak different dialects, or have Qin Shi Huang Di speak a very old, formal form of Mandarin. The only sad bit is knowing the languages that are either dead or are dying. We need to protect Occitan, Cree, Mapudungun, Nahuatl and Quechua, Ossetian and all endangered languages with eagerness.

I aswell know you own some soil with rightfuly power. Makes him sound more stuipd, and also little mistake his name isnt Frederick its Friedrich I. whos nickname was Babarossa Frederick is just the forcfully adapted English name
@Ryoichi94
3 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but what exactly makes him sound stupid? His actual German lines make him "fake humble" as in he introduces himself by faking humbleness while actually displaying the fact that he rules over many lands. Also about the name: That's not a mistake. In English his name is simply "Frederick" instead of "Friedrich". Just like the names of British Monarchs such as "Henry VIII" or "William the Conqueror" had always been "Heinrich VIII" or "Wilhelm der Eroberer" in German before English became widely understood in Germany, Austria, and the like. In fact, scientific literature and Wikipedia still usually work with the German names. This applies to basically all European languages. Louis XVI of France is referred to as "Ludwig XVI" in German rather than by his French name. For Vittorio Emanuele II of Italy, German uses "Viktor Emanuel II" and we also don't use the Spanish "Fernando II de Aragón" or his Aragonese name "Ferrando II". Instead we say "Ferdinand II". Also while Barbarossa was a nickname, the combination "Friedrich Barbarossa" already became the common way to refer to him in the 13th century.

Greetings from Malaysia. Actually, he speaks Middle Persian, although it's very poorly presented because of bad pronunciation and grammar so broken that exact translation is not possible. Middle Persian being used is not historically accurate for Cyrus, since it came into being about 500 years after his reign; he should have spoken Old Persian instead 😁

@@ikigaofficial yes you're correct! Why I didn't got it at first🤦🏻♀️I understood what he was saying without the need to see the subtitles, but I wrote old persian because in that time period they spoke old persian, old persian is drastically different to modern persian & it's not understandable for us, so i guess they made it easy for themselves, but honestly it's ok! I think the character we play as is a polylingual genius.Because every damn leader seems to greet us with their own language,and assume that our player gets it.Since we can play as any leader in the game,and every leader greets us with his or her own language,it means that either there is a translator or every leader in this game knows at least 48 languages.

One thing is a lot of these civilisations formed hundreds if not thousand years apart, meaning that player can understand languages which can be considered as dead like sumerian, phoenician, coptic, ancient chinese and more. So his polylingualism is next level or he hires anthtropologists and archeologists as translators 😁
@antonioscendrategattico2302

That is how diplomacy with people whose culture you only just met tends to work. Rulers tended to have translators specifically for that reason. IIRC the first Englishman to come to Japan had to get his words translated into Portuguese by a translator, which would then be translated to Japanese by the shogun's translator. Because Japan had very little contact with the English, their Europeans of choice to do business with were the Portuguese. Which is also why in modern Japanese thanks is arigato, it's a loanword from Portuguese.

Historically she would have spoken Kawi Javanese, as Gajah Mada does in Civilization V. Her greeting line: *_Gitarja ta aku, Ratuning kalawan pangraksaning Indonesiya. Sintena ikang kumira? Aku tanpa bisa lumrah aneng dhasaring samudra._* *_I am Gitarja, Indonesia's queen and protector. Those who thought us weak litter the ocean floor._* Gitarja refers to her civilization as "Indonesia," an anachronistic name that was not used until the 18th century. During her time, she'd probably have used "Nusantara," as she does in her Defeated line.

SmilesSunAndCloud22 good day! Your enjoyment is my motivation & appreciation 🙇♂️🙇♀️ To begin, my apology for not having all 51 of them (period) compile in 1 video due to the fact that I gotten the 3 latest civs (menelik, basil ii & ambiorix) later/separately. Also sorry to say I won't be making another video just to merge all the 51 civs. Hope for your best understanding 😅✌👍

That because his big grandfather Fatih Sultan Mehmet was the conqueror of the East Rome Empire(a.k.a Bzyntine) and Fatih Sultan Mehmet called himself as Kayser-i Rum (which means -East- Rome Emporer). So i guess his successors used that title too but i'm not sure.

Not king, the emperor... And that's true he was the Emperor of the Rome in a way.
