Thank you in advance for replying. I have a couple of questions to ask. 1. Can a pretrial hearing decision to move forward to trial be appealed by the defendant, if the public defender chose not to appeal it? 2. During the pretrial hearing, the claimant/ accuser, was not present. The only witness to testify for the prosecution was the investigating detective. Although there are 6 reports filed by 6 different police officers regarding the alleged crime, none of the officers were in court for the hearing to cross examine. I may be wrong in assuming but, I was under the impression that a defendant has the right to face his accuser. If that's true, is during a pretrial hearing , when this right, to face and question the accuser, the time it can be used by the defendant?
