After serving troops during both World Wars, the old Post Exchange building at Jefferson Barracks was eventually abandoned and left to the mercy of the elements until Marine Corps veteran, Mark Trout stepped in. Fueled by a passion for restoration and a deep conviction to honor the legacy of veterans, Trout and his small team of volunteers transformed the dilapidated building into a beautiful and fitting memorial that is now the Missouri Civil War Museum.
