Thank you! I'm deciphering my 1980 CJ7 for the winter cold!

Good luck with that, pretty sure you could light it on fire and still be cold ... but every bit helps right :)

Oh man! just the video I needed. Thanks for the run down. I replaced the heater core on my 79 cj over the winter and just am getting back to putting it back together with new cables and had no idea of the orientation. Great Video.

Just what I was looking for, putting original style knobs back on the dash, my cj7 went through some changes after I sold it, but now that I bought it back after 21 yrs it’s time to put him back together the way I like it. My mom found the old title behind their clothes washing machine. One week later I was driving 1000 miles to get him back. Sorry I got side tracked, I have to change out the heater core so I figured it was a good time to restore the dash also. I’ve been restoring it for the last 3 1/2 yrs almost done , just have to re paint it’s factory dark honey color D5 . Thanks for video, and look forward to more

Loving your videos! It's great to see a Canadian representing in CJ7 repair videos. Do you have a part # for that replacement pull-out heater control cable?

Just had to replace my cables as well. Had a heck of time finding the push pins (now I learned as starlocks) to connect the vent to the doors. Really like your jeep, and if there is anything I can do in return, just let me know.

Good video. Do you have any idea why i might be getting pine needles behind the door on floor vent on the passenger side?
@SchnebsGarage

leaves and stuff come in through the cowl vent, fan blows em to the lowest point. New cars have cabin air filters to stop that but the Jeep just eats that stuff up. Lot of guys put a screen on there when they take the heater box out but nothing really stops it short of periodic cleaning and not parking under trees.

Where do you find new cables that are not all plastic and break immediately?
@SchnebsGarage
3 жыл бұрын
They're all plastic including the factory ones so no help there unfortunately. I got these from RockAuto but they seem to be about equal to the original ones that were on it. Time will tell but first winter they haven't broken yet.
