Clark got lucky that Lana not looked in the rear-view mirror, lol. Most ppl wouldve done that in this situation. I had loved to see how this had evolved if Lana had seen what just happend and hit the brakes. He wouldve had a serious explanation problem.

Clark Kent+Lana Lang=Clana Klent

I really have always hated how they played out the Clana as this: he wants to tell her everything about him and every time he get close enough to tell her the truth he wimps out and she gets piss and they break up. Only to get back together again after season five it was turning into a soap opera. Very boring and cliché. I would rather they made Lana the spunky, joking, loyal and playful friend turn girlfriend to Clark (and she knows about his secrets and all) then like all sweethearts they break up and move on.

The worst couple in Smallville. Clark's 8 season long obsession with Lana got old fast. Clark should have realized that a teenage crush on the girl next door doesn't equal true love. Lana being treated like a total Mary Sue who every character thought was some kind of saint, could do no wrong and was instantly forgiven for everything she did. She only started dating Clark because Whitney died in the army so she treated him like second best anyway. Lana seemed to think that her parents dying in the 1989 meteor shower gave her the right to do whatever she wanted.

To be fair, she was showing an attraction to Clark way before Whitney died. Although I really wish Clark's pining for Lana hadn't lasted 8 years. After she married Lex despite his warnings and advice, there should have been no going back but Clark was too much of an idiot to move on from Lana until he was forced.

1pk155 The worst part is that Lana only married Lex to spite Clark for not telling her his secret. One scene in season 1 where Lana has a jealous look on her face when Clark kisses Chloe showed how pathetic Lana really was. Apparently in Lana's world men she fancies aren't allowed to kiss other women even if they're not with her at the time. To Lana Clark was nothing more than a rebound she used to get over Whitney's death. And most of the other women Clark met in the series had far better personalities and were far hotter than Lana so his obsession with her got old quickly. He loved an idealization of her and was totally clueless to what a manipulative self centred bitch the real Lana Lang was. The only character to ever really see Lana for who she really was was Lionel.

Xehanort10 Yeah. Her expression when she learnt about the "pregnancy" showed it wasn't part of the plan. She was only with Lex because of a subconscious plan to make Clark reveal his secret because he didn't want to lose her. However, she married him because of Lionel's threat to kill Clark. To be fair though, everyone feels a pang of jealousy when someone they love is with someone else and she was still only in her relationship with Whitney out of guilt concerning his father's illness. I think she'd have gone out with Clark regardless of Whitney's fate. I loved how Clark on Red K spoke his mind when he crashed her engagement party in 'Crimson'. If the writers were smart, they'd have used that scene to signify Clark purging himself of his residual feelings for her and along with Martha's speech on how the best thing he can do for Lana is to let her go, pushed him to finally move on from her. Instead we got some character assassination with Martha in 'Promise' now telling him to "follow his heart" and Chloe trying to make him prevent Lana's marriage to Lex. Another thing that got on my nerves was the devious manner through which she witnessed Clark's powers. They were no longer dating. He owed her NOTHING as regards to his secret. I mean, he told her once, she got herself killed, Clark went back in time and then his father died. Can he really be blamed for refusing to tell her his secret?! After she discovered the truth behind her pregnancy, I found it funny that she didn't think of the things she'd done like blackmail, manipulation, acting stubborn and arrogant and secretly investigating Clark as things she did to deserve a psychopath like Lex. All in all, I wish Clark had CHOSEN Lois over Lana instead of the former being a second option because he couldn't get what he really wanted. Clark's 8-season pining for Lana wore thin and girls like Alicia and Kyla should have been a larger part of his love life.

1pk155 I preferred Alicia to Lana. She only went psycho and tried to kill Lana because she didn't want to lose Clark because when she met him she'd finally met someone like her. I said this on another Smallville video and I'll say it again. Lana was nothing more than a childhood crush that Clark took far too long to get over. The only reason Lana lasted as long as she did is because the original producers of Smallville Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were obsessed with Kristin Kreuk the actress who played Lana which was why they forced the Lana character into as many storylines as they could. They were so obsessed with her that in the DVD commentary for 1 episode they actually call Lana "the true magic of the show." And I'm not kidding. Those are their exact words. True magic of the show my ass. She was the worst character in the show. Every time a meteor freak got close to killing Lana I was rooting for them because she was the worst character in the show. The Lana Lang of the Superman comics is an OK character but Smallville's Lana is as insufferable as they come. She should have left for good in Season 3 when she went to Paris.

Xehanort10 Good. I had the feeling that Lana overstaying her welcome had a lot to do with the actress that portrayed her. Apparently, they believed the chemistry between Kreuk and Welling was so good that they tried to make the relationship go for as long as possible. The 8-year pining almost made it implausible that Clark would ever truly get over Lana but I think the quick trust and so on that he had for Lois made up for that.
