I can't speak for everybody but it's because 1) she always focused on the negative and 2) she moved on from Clark to Lex so fast... considering her moral high ground she always had with Clark and 3) she always seemed like she was offended by everything everyone else did? Except she let Lex get away with everything, and he was the worst...

It took Lana another 3 seasons, but in end, she became totally independent, was as powerful and strong as Clark without any of his weakness. Still sad she ended up all alone, which was something she hoped Clark would avoid by sharing his secret. Instead it happened to her.

@Micheal Henry she never loved Lex. Her feelings for him were out of gratitude. Her love for Clark was true. My theory is proved in "Promise" when Lana learned that Clark left her not because he didn't love her but wanted to protect her. After that she immediately decided to break up with the "father" of her "child". That was exactly what she meant by "I love both of you" in "Hydro". When Clark's words "I don't love you", she was heartbroken and angry with him. At the end of “Perry” Lana told that she wanted to spend more time with someone about who she really cared (Clark) rather than with her her dead parents. When Clark broke her heart, she started taking drugs to see her parents to *forget Clark,* then dating with Lex. I don't blame Clark, it's not his fault. Lana made her own choice but I can understand her motives and reasons why she did that.

This was one of the most painful episodes, it gave us a deeper understanding for Lana. It wasn't Chloe's, Clark's or even Lois's responsibility for what happened in her past, but I hated them for not being there for her as friends. She didn't have anyone. Probably why she was vulnerable enough to get trapped by Lex.

It's so sad... first her parents died in front of her, then her aunt left her and things with her biological father also didn't work out and then Clark ripped her heart out! Lex and Chloe were kinda the only people left in her life and Lex used all this for his advantage.

Clark was so dry here. She’s clearly sad and needed someone to talk to despite their relationship status. If someone is telling you they’re lonely etc. at least try to console them rather than hit them with dry one liners. He’s never been good with words

Why didn't he just hug her and love on her during this scene! She clearly needed him and he just walked off. There were so many times throughout this show when clark should have just snatched lana up and made love to her mentally but I guess it didnt go that way.

"snatched her up and made love to her mentally"...oh my God I'm dying 😂😂😂😂😂. I see what you're saying though. You're right. Even though I love Clark, when he's not acting like an idiot, he can be so clueless at times when it comes to Lana. Especially in this scenario when he knows he triggered this downward spiral Lana went through.

Totally get where you're coming from but didn't he just break up with her like the episode before this? (Hence why she was trying to get comfort by crossing over to see her dead parents.) And then she says again in this scene "I won't allow myself to become dependent ever again" whch is obviously a loaded thing to say to him. Like I agree that she needed the comfort but I think the whole point was that she didn't want to need it from him. And I think he knows that they won't move on without space even if his reasons for wanting the break up are stupid in the first place
@zhozho800

@@ThexImperfectionist This is exactly where the writers messed up. Cause like 2 episodes later, she was hooking up with Lex instead of actually letting her be on her own and figure things out on her own. At this point she was going through functional depression and needed professional help, cause she was overwhelmed with a feeling loneliness even when she was around other people.

@@zhozho800 when Clark gained his powers again, he couldn’t sleep with Lana anymore. He was afraid even to kiss her like before. After Jonathan’s death, Clark’s guilty for Lana’s dead parents became stronger, so he couldn’t be with her like before anymore. Such situation was in season 3. Martha lost her baby Clark not only had guilty for that but his guilty for Mr and Mrs Lang because stronger. That’s why he distanced from Lana.

"Lana..all I want is you to be happy" Clark, you definitely look uneasy in that room with Lana..you probably don't know what to do or say, since what happened to Lana is mostly due to your dumping her..sorry, but that statement of yours (so often actually made in real life by people who dump their boyfriends or girlfriends) may sound a bit senseless..Lana replies "I will be"..Yes, she will be happy, but only with you, Clark....

if he has is own compelling experience with the drug why isnt he more empathetic and understanding to lana. clark is empathetic to (elite murders) but not to her. lex is being a manipulative snake but the part where he says he understands is because its the truth and because he went under too. clark is supposed to be morally superior thanks to his parents and he cant even tell when his ex needs a hug. but save lex a million times so he can keep on experimenting, ruing lives and killing lol

Lana made her own choice but I can understand her motives and reasons why she did that. And at that time Lana didn't know that her future hubby was a criminal. Why she didn’t listen anyone when they were warning her about Lex's true nature? Clark didn’t have any proof. He could only suspect, not know for sure. Also how Lana should have understand his actions if at first he warns her about Lex, then wishes her to be happy with him? Illogical acting, isn't it? Moreover, even Chloe went on dealing with The Luthors no matter what. And if you look at Martha and Lionel, you could think that they were a family couple. In later episodes Tess also didn’t believe that Lex was an evil person despite everyone were warning her. That was because Lex had saved her. However in “Bulletproof” when Lana showed her PROOF that Lex was using her for his own purposes, Tess finally believed it. So why Clark didn’t do the same? Why he didn’t show her PROOF? It was not a problem with his abilities. So his warnings were similar to jealousy and quickly conclusions. Notice, after learning about Lex’s true nature, Lana never blamed anyone because no one gave her proof.
