This video details how Clearwater Industries treated 60 GPM of slurry from a hydrodemolition bridge restoration project for clean water reuse or discharge.
The 1,300 ft bridge deck restoration project required a portable containerized water clarification system for continuous operation. Clearwater Industries worked with the client to manufacture a portable system that is housed in a 40' HC shipping container. The containerized system comes complete with spray foam insulation and climate controls.
First, the restoration projects wastewater is collected in storage tanks. It's then pumped to the first clarifier tank where it is treated with a polymer flocculant. The polymer flocculant allows the solids in the water to create larger particles that drop to the bottom of the tank quickly. As the solids settle they're pumped with a mud pump and discharged to a waste tank.
The clean water from the first clarifier tank flows to a clean water storage tank. Here the water is treated with an acid that corrects the water's PH level.
After the water's PH level is treated a filter pump moves it through two cartridge filters. This is the final step of the wastewater clarification process for this job.
This is one of many custom wastewater clarification systems Clearwater Industries has designed and manufactured for our clients.
