I advise those who play to use a easiest (lightest) reeds , because it is that it hardly attacks the sound, and to give much more air
@TheGozalus
2 жыл бұрын
That makes whatever piece you are playing sound like rubbish, not to mention that your lungs are working extra hard to generate enough air to produce a nice tone! You are obviously not a wind player and if you are, then you are not a very good one.

@@TheGozalus Not true. Different mouthpieces respond differently to different strength reeds. A strength 2 reed on one mouthpiece wont sound the same on a different mouthpiece. All reed strengths are usable, although it depends heavily on gear.

This is for clarinet in A, not B flat, mistake on the score at the top.

Butterfly Wings This is the Bb version of the original A part. No mistake.
@butterflywings5644

@@hannahm1937 Sorry but it really isn't, all the other B flat versions I've found are written a tone lower ie in E major, so actual sound in both cases is D major, for this movement- the others in obviously A. It makes sense. Just pointing it out, not being critical.
@hannahm1937

@@butterflywings5644 I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is the Bb part. The shown score part transposed a tone lower is the concert pitch that the clarinet is actually playing. As it is a transposing instrument, for it to play the right notes, all the pitches must be transposed up a tone which is why it reada a tone higher to you. I have the part at home and played along to it - it sounds the same pitch. I don't mean to be rude or anything either, but it is the Bb part, not concert pitch. If you're trying to imply this is the A part, that's definitely not true.
@butterflywings5644
5 жыл бұрын
Vedant Dave How patronising both of you are. I understand what concert pitch is, and how transposing works, thanks. If C is played on a clarinet in A it is actually an A, that is concert pitch, and B flat for a clarinet in B flat. You transpose down the written score by 3 semitones, or one whole tone to get concert pitch. Yes this was written for clarinet in A, precisely, so concert pitch is in A major. This mvt is in the subdominant, D major. These are written in C and F for the A clarinet, to sound 4 semitones or a minor third lower, e.g. the final note, F, is actually D. If this was the B flat clarinet part this would be E flat which makes no sense. The B flat clarinet part is in B major, and this mvt in the subdominant, E, to give the concert pitch, e.g. final note is written E but again, actually D, the same as before. You can always Google to find the scores, too 😃
