That first album was a perfect mixture of gospel and funk. Old school gospel at it’s best

My favorite gospel group ever. Love me some sibling groups that stick together The Clark sisters, the winans, Mary Mary and the truthettes Them n Shirley Caesar, along with a few artist ,were my first gospel artist I followed religiously.. they all had voices, being from the church if you can’t do nothing else you can harmonize. My uncle was in a gospel group n played guitar. Every time we were together he got it out n made us sing. We mastered all the gospel songs on the radio from The Canton Spirituals to anybody who had a song we could harmonize n make ours. Memories

Every time I hear them sing I cry. I can feel the message in their music. God has given them the gift of reaching out to the many to send his message. I discovered the Clark Sisters on a song entitled Higher Ground on Missy Elliot’s So Addictive album and I am grateful for that.

I agree but it did take them a while to get to where they are now ……. The music industry is crazy … especially gospel music …

@@Faithfulwondererso, what do they mean by sitting Dr. Clark down? Did they make her retire before she wanted to? I didn’t grow up in COGIC, so I don’t know the story. But I love the Clark sister, Pace sister, Daryl Coley, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, James Moore etc.

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Cogic was right if one dont stay on the straight and norrow, it will lead to the road of destruction. now look at today's artist and how they are force to do what they dont want to do because of the illuminati and in worldly adornment for the spotlight. Go back to the comment section on this channel and read my other comment. Also, if you despise biblical correction and that straight and norrow path, then you might need deliverance. you dont know the true consequences of being of this world when it say to come out it and be separate. Mrs Mattie could not serve 2 masters for you will love one and hate the other. All these are scriptures. So smart Mrs. Mattie to have chosen Jesus/Yahushuah Christ. Those secular artist are satan puppets through their music, they bewitch, sorcery, cause people to sin againat GOD on many many levels but yet ignorantly we put them on a high pedestal when they are sending people to hell. Watch video on ex satan worshipers and ex witches and warlock because they will expose what they were formerly doing to people and what was goin on in the entertainment business. Shalom

During those times … church politics, rules and tradition really put the sisters on restriction …. Their message never changed and it’s up to them and others to send Gods message abroad …… although it’s never all about money , I believe that their career was kind of stagnated because of their mothers big and notable reputation and of course their denomination
