Only two critiscizms, the external sounds are a bit quiet compared to real electrostars. You can hear them scream usually beyond 70mph -100mph irl. In game not so much .also theres an early hum thats typically heard on electrostars towards later speeds as the motors seem to be geared upward beyond 100mph, so the humming usually happens towards 65-100mph. But other than that , its a good improvement to the prev sound installment.

Yeah at high speed I cut off the gearbox sounds altogether because the Brighton Mainline DLC has a really low sound channel limit for no real reason. Since TSW4, new routes have double the limits but not old ones. That's why this sound mod doesn't have many more decent sounds at high speed.

@@ItsYa165 i wish i could mod stuff like that, not even sure where to begin because id happily try as my train channel has alot of recordings above the motored axles. And i see. Youd think youd be able to avoid those limits at higher speeds on a new game. Additionally I don't think DTG care or know how motor/gearbox drives actually sound like or even trym their first electrostar seemed like a decent attempt on tsw2. They Still get it wrong majority of the time. They completely missed the class 700s gearbox harmonics and humm noise towards higher speeds.

@@bb-3653 this is it. I'm more interested in how trains work than what they sound like, and as such it means I appreciate the noises they make because I know what it is and why it's invading my ear canal. But in DTGs case, they never try to understand the science of a sound because they're a game studio and not engineers. I'm an engineer, I study all sorts in my Bachelor's program and I plan on leaving the train manufacturing company I had a placement at as an engineer to pursue a master's degree in electronics specifically to research and develop motor control. With my certificate from the institute under them, I could become chartered after that too. And what I get out of it is a thesis deep understanding of the topic. And as for DTG? They never put any more effort into learning than train trip or the odd driver's manual which is a shame for simulation but expected for a developer.

@@ItsYa165 same here i also find it fascinating how they work despite having pretty laymens understanding. And i love the noises combined i actualy think many travellers find sounds interestingon trains, especially on some trains vs others (unless its too loud) . Anyewhp The ideas surrounding different bogies styles. Learning that gearboxes are much more complex than just appearing as a bunch of archaic cogs. When they are much more than that. The noises they. Power outputs etc, different types of motors etc. Its just cool to understand somewhat . But for me that more from genuine interests in trains as a child till my 20s. Thank 80s era and 90s era british rail for that reason when they made all those cool trains, And tubes too. Its cool to also know you used your interest and developed studied knowledge to make train soundsa and footage etc. I wish you the best for the future too. You can have major oppertunities for sure with that qualification. With regards to DTG theyd flourish best with actual train enthusiasts helping them make their stuff man. As much as a are a game company im disappointed from all the years theyve made train games surely theyd have picked up on the hints from the mods, complaints etc. They deliberately miss out on tractive ambiance and actual braking and acceleration physics which is arguably all important for the product, is like...willfull incompetence on their end . Like how tf do you make a class 700 tsw have only siren noises with no drive sounds...the most obvious thing most trains have. Also they have worse acceleration than a BREL class 317 in ts classic. class 700s irl brake SO quick how tf you mess that up. And they don't even bother to modify it. (Unless you can or plan to do that at some point. which is still pathetic that DTG didn't bother)

@@ItsYa165 Also, Dont these sound wonderful (rapid S stock acceleration) kzitem.info/news/bejne/lneaqZaHsmqlpn4si=8zLEqqMiZEW3rKYS I assume these are more or less traction controlled similarly to talent 2s. One of my favourite videos on the S stock

Yeah it's alright. It could be better now having got that inductor recording, I'll need another one of the 387 on 750VDC though because the pulse modes will be different.

@@ItsYa165 one thing ive also noticed is secong gen 377s and other electrostars sound alot more sharp at speeds the gearbox noises are so much more audiable at speeds.
