In this video I take a trip to Peterborough train station to catch a variety of Diesel Locomotives and Passenger Trains on their duties and I was not dissapointed!
To being the video, two Class 56 locomotives stop for a crew change which allowed me to get the thrash and clag of the locomotives upon departure. 56103 was the leading locomotive and had just returned to mainline service after a long time out of traffic, accompanying the locomotive was 56098 on hire to DCR from GBRf. Certainly a great pair!
Also seen in this video are the LNER Class 91s or the Inter-City 225s which are slowly and regretfully approaching the end of their working lifes with the date set for the withdrawl in 2027.
A variety of Class 66 locomotives from different freight operating companies can be seen including, DB, GBRf and Freightliner. A surprising visit was a GBRf Class 66 dragging two Southeastern Class 466 Networker Units from Slade Green to Doncaster so they can be worked on.
Another rare visiotor was GBRf Class 69, 69005 Eastleigh, working a service to Milton Towers. The loco stopped at a red signal allowing for the very well known engine thrash that is identical to a Class 66.
Speaking of Middleton Towers, a DCR Class 60 came speeding past the station working a feight back towards Derby with some tones! Something I find rare for DCR drivers.
And finally, a replacement service for Class 37, 37607. The loco was travelling back to Derby R.T.C but was supposed to earlier that morning. However, due to a technical fault, the service was postponed til later that day.
I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!
