Classé is a Canadian company with great traditions. It was founded in the early 1970s and debuted with the DR2, followed by the legendary DR3 and DR3HC, which went down in history as some of the best Class A power amps ever. Many products then followed, up to this Delta series, which debuted after a long gestation. One preamp, the Delta Pre, and two power amps, Delta Stereo and Delta Mono. On test are the Pre and Stereo, with an aesthetic that although closely resembling that of past products, is embellished - in the power amp - by two elegant analogue Vu-Meters that debut for the first time on a Classé product. The colour of the aluminium chassis is dark grey, which differentiates them at a glance from past production, which was silver. The project is completely new: an entirely analogue modular preamplifier and power amplifier, which, although it inherits the IC Tunnel dissipation system already seen in the previous creations, has an innovative circuitry that allows operation in class A up to 12.5W and then in AB at the nameplate data of 250/500 W into 8/4 ohms.
The price of the combination, although challenging, is nevertheless very advantageous taking into account the competition, which is on average much higher. The sonic performance is what Classé has accustomed us to. Great naturalness, exceptional driving capacity, timbre correctness and rhythm, for a combination that will certainly leave its mark.
