So I guess you’d only have to watch one episode to know if that dialogue was even in the show.) Serious question: how do you know? Not being snarky, just wondering if you’ve seen all the episodes, or if there’s a way to search the scripts online, etc. Thanks a lot. If NM made it up, good job on his part, because it was believable and hilarious, lol. The newbie was just too green. Just too green to see it.

@@HoyaSaxaSD I looked into it. I have seen almost every episode of Kojak (except for some from season 5). This includes the TV movies from the 80s and the remake with Ving Rhames. Kojak never told the joke. It's 100% an original joke from Norm. He's always making prostitute jokes.

Norm Macdonald's passing was too soon. I don't think he got the appreciation he deserved because too few people in film and TV had any idea what to make of his talent--or maybe they were too scared to deal with someone so daring in what he had to say. For me he's a legendary comedian and I hope people grow to appreciate him as the comic I've always known him to be.

Back in the day, this was a not to be missed show. Kojak was so confident. Liked his brother too who had curly hair. Oh, and to see Kojak use a phone booth for his phone call. How things have changed!

Have you noticed that at the very last moment when he replaces the phone, he misses the latch and holds it against the frame to save the shot? Brilliant actor and always aware of the camera angles. For another example watch as he first walks into the bar where the mobsters are: he scans the room and picks them out. Just wonderful.

The best charismatic, real persona with vitality and inner stregth that I have ever seen in american TV shows. Kojak do not need to use karate or combat fight. For him it's enough to stop gangsters with rude talk and ice star and low voice. Yes, it is Tele Savalas. Nothing can compare with him.
