I tried and failed to put some on a few weeks ago. Broke the new trim in the process! I have now got new trim again and will do what you did with the hot water and weighing it down etc. Thanks for video. One question.....what tape is that you are using to fix it on? Double-sided? Is it very thick? I was intending to use the metal claw-like clips but they often ruin the edge.

Glad the video is a help! I used “XFasten Double Sided Woodworking Tape, 1-Inch by 36-Yards, 3-Pack”from Amazon because I had it on hand. It is thin. The trim has stayed on pretty well. Where the trim goes from the wheel arch to the bottom edge of the car I have a little trouble with it pulling out away from the car a little. The trim I got is clear on the bottom edge which means you can see the tape on the underside in the wheel arches. If your trim is like mine, you might want to get an appropriate color tape. With my red car, I think even black tape would be a little less noticeable. The trim the car came with was stuck on with black double sided tape that felt a little thicker than what I used. Good luck!

@@themightymini9853 Thanks - one more question - somebody said that he thought the hot water might discolour the chrome. How long did you soak it and was it really hot? I do not want to use the hairdrier method.

@@BNCA70 I am guessing the soaking process was about 45 minutes. Of course portions were out of the water during the process. I think the one I did with the hairdryer is the same color as the the side I did in water so it doesn’t seem like the water was a problem. I had the water about as hot as my hands could take. I will guess it was about 100 degrees F (38 C) or maybe a little more. In my case, the hot water method turned out a lot better than the hairdryer. Good luck!
