In my mid teens, my Dad took me to a few swap meets in Northern Ohio as a vendor. He had amassed, in his youth, a lot of 20’s-30’s parts in my grandfather’s barn, and was looking for a way to make some money. You see all kinds of things and meet all kinds of people at swap meets. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.

My Parents had a Studibaker before I was born. I don't think it ever ran, but it sat in the woods when I was growing up. I remember that it had a Round Chrome Grill. I think it was an Early 1950's model.

That's one reason why Studebaker is no longer. They are cool looking cars. I like their curves and unique features. Just a bit different. Oh, what it would have been if you still had it in running shape now.

My first bike was a blue, 1958 Honda 50 Cub, I was 6. It was a basket case (came in about 6 milk crates). My dad was a mechanic, what wasn’t there he came up with. I remember a few trips to junk yards. Good memories.

I bought 3 mid 70s 2002s for 200 bucks in 97-98. Tried to make one out of them all but way too much work needed. Sold the best one which I got running with crates if parts off the other ones for 3x that plus the scrap metal. Still have the vin plate and title for one of them

The auto swap I went to this summer was a lot of odds n ends and worn out tools. Hardly anything useful. I mean, year before you can find a 50's truck glove box door for $2 then everyone selling tired leftovers. PS NO oil cans! None at auto swap!

I learned to drive in a 57 ford truck three on a tree in my grandpa's hay bottom...best way to learn...js...I couldnt hit anything and couldnt hurt the truck..hahaha ...it was 1973....but I still hate 3 on a tree..much prefer 4 in the floor...but I can drive a manual shift to this day..and can still power shift and wind those gears out to full maximum power....and yes a clutch is a mini brake when needed and still can power shift and I'm 61...love the power and control of a manual transmission...js

Dear Mr. Archbold. 👍👌👏 For 600 CAD the Rambler in a running condition and with good tires was definitely a bargain. I would've bought it for sure. You have definitely a lot more discipline and resistance than me, sigh. I would bet, that even CWM Scott or one of the agents would've been interested. 2) Do I guess right that your kids are not much interested in oldtimer vehicles right now? 3) You still own the property with your old shop. Is the wooden garage already full? 4) I guess you need a kind of barn on your new, wonderful property. More vehicles will come, for sure! 😁 ;-) Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.

Oh the bark of power shifting when you catch 3rd gear...lol..if you can make the tires bark in third you have mastered it..js...there is just something about powering thru a manual tranny that makes your heart sing...and the power it holds...few folks understand that..it is a thing of mechanical beauty....

If you contact almost any junkyard, it should be easy to find an original radio! Nearly every car or truck had the same radio. Probably willl cost around 30 or 40 bucks. I'm in Austin Tx. and there are still plenty of those old trucks around. I'd be glad to look if you wish. Just send me the info. I don't want to leave my number on here, but you can send me a message on Facebook messenge. Good luck!
