@Mark Hendrix *Hey there, Mark! (I'll spare you the Jimi Hendrix references lol) Well, this was indeed an unexpected and extremely rare type of response, such a kind and compassionate reply! Usually, when I make a comment on a KZitem video, typically I receive rude, even insulting replies, mainly from younger folks who don't seem to know any better. Yes, I am 'the last of the Mohicans', so to speak. My sister passed away many years ago, when I was just a kid. The poor girl was severely mentally handicapped. Then, my beloved, kindhearted eldest brother was KIA in The Vietnam War back in 1969 and was decorated for his bravery and also earned a Purple Heart for wounds which he sustained and, ultimately, caused his death. Kurt was a proud member of The USMC; I joined because of my admiration for his service. Then, in 2010 my last brother passed; Although, I will spare you the truly gruesome details concerning my brother's demise; suffice to say he died as a result of an intense car fire in which he was terribly injured. His death was indeed a merciful blessing; because, as a result of the fire, he had lost everything, physically speaking. Although my parents lived to the ripe old ages of 89 and 92; father and mother respectively, they too are now gone. I've lost all of my children, beautiful twin girls and one son. (much too painful to recount) So, you hail from The Great State of TEXAS! I had several cousins who moved from the North, ('Yankee Land') to Texas back in the '80's. It was amusing how they went from speaking 'Yankee' to acquiring a charming 'Southern drawl' within a year or so lol. In 1977 my entire immediate family drove through Texas, starting from Illinois to get to our final destination of Arizona, Texas is seemingly ENDLESS! lol. It seemed to take an eternity just to drive through that state! (if I may ask) How many of your loved ones are still with us today? I assume, by the content of your reply and your (writing) cadence, you are a fellow 'Boomer'? How is that wall coming along down there? I retired to The Netherlands, (retired, then moved here in the early 2000's) and rarely watch the so called 'News' any longer, so I am rather ignorant of what is happening in my much-loved America these days; other than the fact that most of what I loved about America is quickly and sadly disappearing. In-any-case, God Bless you for your kind reply. See you around the Comment Sections, my friend!*

@@MrMenefrego1, Texans as a general rule don't have a southern drawl. We have primarily a Texas accent. Southerners have a southern drawl, for instance the ones who grow up in Tenn. or deep south states. Texas depending on the part where you are in the state have south central or southwestern or even lower midwestern accents. Only a few have deep south drawls like you are referring to in your description of them. The best example is when y'all is used to mean one person or plural or collective= deep south. Y'all as plural or collective only, and not singular, is Texan. I was born in So. Cal, but grew up in Tex. with a northeast ArkLaTex(Tex.) father and a Tex/La./southeast Tex./Golden Triangle, stepmother, with me growing up mostly around Houston, and as an adult I have lived all over the state including West Texas. The culture is different all over the state. Blacks and Hispanics have their accents, and whites our's/their's, but primarily, we are not in the majority, a deep Southern drawl state.

Let’s see. $378 in 1962 would be worth $3424 today. Quite a little sum she saved up there. 😉

The decorator is a funny guy. Italian French toast’s like Caribbean style but I add cinnamon to vanilla and it’s yummmm... Great topped with sliced banana or apple 🍎 👌

The #1 show at the time "The Dick Van Dyke Show" first aired was "The Beverly Hillbillies", which gives you an idea where TV was at in 1961/2. Most comedies were farces like "The Andy Griffith Show". Later in the decade there would be fantasies like "Bewitched" and "I Dream of Jeannie", shows that were probably reactions to Laura Petrie here and Marlo Thomas' "That Girl" a bit later. As for family comedies prior to 61, they were often benevolently managed by pipe-puffing patriarchs and apron-wearing matrons. Of course, "I Love Lucy" was a combo of everything, but the main difference between that show and "DvD Show" was that the woman wore the pants here; also, less farcical in general. It tried to be a gender role reversal of "Lucy", maybe, but Dick was never a joke in and of himself. He was a decent, mostly adult guy who got in awkward situations. One thing is clear watching these episodes: Laura was bored and wanted a job. Not to worry; changes in the world were happening. 4 years after this show ended, Moore would become the poster child for the working woman. Another thing, at least for me: more than any show from the time period, it seems modern, despite the generally G-rated approach. Reiner repositioned what the American sitcom could, and perhaps should, be about.

@Custom Tattoos. I have always loved this show but always felt their treatment of animals was sub-par...especially the animals used on the "show".
