I am only part way through this video and already blown away by the simple explanations. So easy to follow. I am also blown away by by the number of comments, as in, there aren't many. Maybe most of the views aren't from absolute beginners, such as myself. Thank You for all the hard work makingbthis video!!

Thank you for the lesson! I have learnt a lot. In the block chord section, I couldn't quite catch which chords you were playing. Would you please clarify? Many thanks!!

We’re in the key of a minor, so: a (i) E (V) a (i) C (V/VI) Fmaj7 (VI7) E (V) a (i) What’s in parentheses are the Roman numeral with respect to the tonic, and capital means major, lowercase means minor

@@NFStopsnufThis answer would be certainly be useful for someone who has already a clue about music theory. For a beginner however this like Chinese. I am playing guitar since forever, but without any theory, and in the block chord section I was also not sure what the coach was doing. I think he got distracted after tuning the instrument and forgot to explain exactly what the left hand was doing. I am criticizing anyone here, I am just trying to say what went “wrong” here. We should not forget, we are talking not only about beginners in classic guitar, but perhaps beginners at guitar and music theory. Now again: what was the coach doing in the block chord section? Thanks for your help!

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems classical guitarists use way different chords and inversions than other guitar styles such as rock, folk , country
@brianriggs4812

It's not so much that classical guitarists use different chords/inversions, it's that they use a lot more of them. Most pieces use major/minor chords, it's just that we tend to play more voicings of those chords all over the fretboard. The basic building blocks of the chords are the same as common open chords, classical guitarists are just playing them in more combinations, and switching between them much more frequently.

And for those that understandably ask, NO you don't need disgusting crusty fingernails to play. It adds a nice character to the sound, but thats about it

do I need long fingernails to play the classical guitar? I would rather not grow them
@GnarlyMarley420
2 жыл бұрын
No you can just use your finger tips. Many people only grow their finger nails for a richer sound. Kind of the same reason why bass players would use a pick. If you really want too, I've seen classical players use banjo picks. Then you wouldnt have to have nails and you'll get that rich tone still.
