Great reaction, which, as usual, left me surprised and much better informed. I look forward to you covering "Colder Weather"(my favourite harmony-wise), and "Helplessly Hoping", one of their most pared-back and yet haunting performances. "In The Blood" also makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Thanks.

Yes, Tim showing off his 6 octave range is why everyone recommends this song. As for other Home Free songs I'd love to see reactions to (that you haven't yet done as of Aug 2024), it's tough because they have a HUGE library, & literally everything they sing is fantastic. But my choices (in no particular order) would be: Elvira (with The Oak Ridge Boys), How Great Thou Art, Man of Constant Sorrow, My Church, In the Blood, Seven Bridges Road, Delta Dawn (with Brooke Eden), & Dive Bar Saints (an original). Oh, & Ring of Fire with Avi, of course.

Tim sings in the same key as CAM - the Original artist they are covering - she is BEAUTIFUL ... sings like a bird .... and SO DOES the Bassist in Home Free = Tim Foust !!! The man is a maverick to be sure. All in this band are EXCEPTIONAL .... in fact it is the standard for the Band .... when any can LEAD the the song and also sing harmony like it was a tone generator - it blows thy mind ! Love this vocal group. Home Fry for a few years now. Your channel is very good as well, Sir Hairless, GB jj

I agree “helplessly hoping” harmonies are excellent! You cannot go wrong with any “Home Free” song whether it be cover or original! I can’t wait for you to listen to them all! Also Tim, Austin and Chance all have solo careers outside of Home Free. And Tim and Austin also have another group they are in together called “sweet and low” along with a few others. Tim has released an album called “Pieces of Me” where he harmonizes with himself as he does all the parts to the songs on the album which are all songs from 50-60’s doo whoop songs. Austin has several new song releases just in the past few months. And Chance sings with the “hound and the fox” and a member of the “street Corner Syphony”

I think that was great, to include a brief clip of the original. I already knew Home Free had amazingly performed their version in the same key as that of a female singer. But hearing the quick sample made that part of it fully clear. And don’t worry, basically everyone is caught flat-footed when Tim comes in, singing in tenor. I think it was after this rendition was released that word got out about how broad his range is. The cat was out of the bag. And for me, I especially like Rob’s counter-melody lines that kind of create the outro.
I love the education you give us about music. Helps me understand why I love Home Free

Always enjoy your reviews. If you want to review one of their originals, they put one out last year, written by Austin (their high tenor) called "Playing with Fire," that is paired with some stunning videography. Also think you would deeply enjoy the harmonic talents in "Helplessly Hoping" (a Crosby Stills & Nash cover) and just revel in the wonderful harmonies and bass of "Brothers In Arms" (a Dire Straits cover). Also, as a classical musician, you might enjoy Rob and Austin teaming up to sing "Nessun Dorma" (I think that one is titled "Two Country Singers Try Opera").

So I learned something else new that I had never heard. I sing with a ladies a cappella group. We sing a lot of barbershop harmonies. And we have to sing with a flat tone, no vibrato allowed. I’ve never put it together that singing like this is more difficult than with vibrato. Our goal is to “ring” the chord, or create overtones or pedal tones. Thank you again for another great class in music!!
