Nowadays a teacher can't punish the students, still the teacher is expected to handle a strength of 35-40 unruly students and also finish the syllabus on time with umpteen other co curricular responsibilities. Being teacher is the hardest job.

Hello everyone, I am Fernanda, a student for being a teacher in South America, specifically in Ecuador, so I know the importance of completing the syllabus or the curriculum on time, but the essence of being a teacher is the passion for work and making students interested too, If teachers understand the need to empathize with students, then it does not depend on how many students they have, it is rather the method and the effort that teachers put in to receive collaboration in class, remember we are dealing with humans. Best Regards.

And what about the pressures a teacher goes through everyday? S/he has to complete the daily lesson plans within 30-35 minutes including warm up, explanations & lots of board work, handling the disrespectful & disturbing students, & finally collecting all the students' copies to recheck. All those methods can't be included in such a short period of time. A teacher works even on weekends. S/he needs a fresh mind & free time too to invest their energy in the classroom. Again a teacher is always under surveillance, faces both adminstrative & outside pressure every day.

All of these things work when no. of students is about 10 and a teacher is able to pay attention to each student. In a class of about 40students, if a teacher starts asking "What happened?" then how much time will be spent in these things everyday? For students centred teaching approach, the number of students should be such that a cooperative learning environment is maintained in the class. And some students are reluctant to learn.

I find their solution fictitious and impractical. If you'll expose yourself in a real scenario, you'll say that it's really hard for a teacher to do that stuff in just a small period of time. I was thinking the same way as them not until I experienced the reality.

In my opinion schooling is not enough to educate children. There must collaborative effort from all the parts society to develop a good citizen. Parents must be well behaving with the kids as well as with each other. The children must not see or hear anything which can affect their upbringing not even tv programmes or in news channels then we won't require to do anything the students will behave properly and learn effectively.

@sumansen3687
5 жыл бұрын
You are saying for american countries not for India. In India 1:30 is considered optimum, but still one can find more than 40 in each class.... That should be checked
@pterafirma
5 жыл бұрын
@@sumansen3687 - Even in the United States, 1:40 is common. And it is a disaster, even with excellent teachers. The administrators, and legislators who don't properly fund education, create this problem by hiring too few teachers. Then they push the blame for the problems which they have created onto the teachers. Every teacher knows that keeping class sizes down to about 15 students would solve a substantial part of the classroom management issues, while freeing the teacher to realistically solve the remainder, and most importantly, to be able to _teach_. I would guess the situation is similar in India?

It is very easy to preach these solutions.... Make it practical is very difficult.... The last part of the video does not mean the teacher managed well these.... It s only a small part of class room session.....controlling students for 40mnts to be shown... Then we can understand it s not an easy task.
