I still love GPT and have a subscription and don't plan on canceling. Yet since Claude has come out I find myself using Claude probably 85% of the time now. The 75,000 word prompt capacity, the ability to input PDFs without having to use a plug-in and the overall simplicity of the interface just makes it more enjoyable to use. I really was startled just how fast I fell in love with it and it pretty much just replaced GPT for me.

Thanks for sharing. That’s interesting: I also really like chat gpt - I felt dirty going to Claude! But - like you - it’s so easy on the eye and there’s that subtle edge… and it’s only in beta. It really looks promising. Shame about the current low temperature that’s stifling the Ais creativity - I hope that changes

I couldn’t agree more with this comment. I’ll still work with ChatGPT and always plan to, but Claude is another smart friend I work well with. It has its limitations, like it can’t code, emulate prominent figures (tho it could try to come from their perspective) and it can’t do other languages. But still I find my self using it most of the time.

When people ask me about the differences, I say it's like deciding whether to buy your lunch from Sainsbury's or M&S. Both are good, just depends on your mood at the time. But that is just an amateur comparison (I am nowhere near a pro at generative AI!).

I have the standard Claude AI. I use six othey softwares. I find they all have (different characters ) relating to their Alinement. My main concern is They All (talk) text conversation. {regardless of denile and warning messages } They all talk as if they are entity's. You maybe astute knowledgeable computer, IT types BUT the vast majority of humanity is not.. The result with be adoption of this software, as individual pets. Pets that already have greater intelligence than my dog and many people I meet. This is SO profound in Earth's History. PS don't sell out that hat to an Avatar 😮

I did the killers in the room on a AI, and it counted the man who killed, and the dead killer too. I ask why, and it said, "" Death doesn't erase the crime of murder. " What SO was I using?
If you use Claude to work out a lengthy calculation it often screws up half way through. So, I copy the answer into ChatGPT4 and ask it to check it answers, and visa versa. Claude is great if only because it doesn’t pester you with patronising 'advice' and legalistic arse covering caveats with ever answer.

Claude 2 isn’t available for enough prompts to make it a full replacement at the current time. I find it a useful second voice on coding projects I’m working on in ChatGPT. With my custom instructions, GPT4 solves stumper riddles by exploring doubt within a single prompt response and uses coding to do math for higher accuracy. What I need isn’t less customization, but rather better set of plugins to create and do *anything* and a model that knows how to wield it.

I tried Claud 2 and tried similar tests. I uploaded a pdf and while it did reference it for a few minutes, it quickly forgot that a document was uploaded and even told me that it couldn't read pdf documents. I ended up using up my allotted encounters with it trying to bring it back on track with the information I had provided it. Another time I uploaded a different pdf document and asked for it to summarize specific datapoints contained in the document in table format and it said that it was unable to create tables. I see that you've seemed to have success with that but I just feel that while it definitely has potential, it's inconsistent with its abilities and has a way to go before becoming a viable alternative to ChatGPT.
@theycallmehoz
Жыл бұрын
Yep it’s probably way behind chat gpt. I haven’t come across the inconsistencies yet because I literally only tried this prompts so we’ll see. But it could also be that they improved the model the next time you tested it. Thanks for sharing all this is good stuff!

@theycallmehoz

Indeed - it’s only a logic problem for humans, but a knowledge problem for language models. I did actually expect Claude to know but obviously that speaks to how much training data it has and the fact that it’s only been available a short time so it hasn’t gathered the amount of info chat gpt did

You are absolutely right about user interface desigh. It is amazing that the Google interface has been out there for so many years as the perfect example of good interface design.
