It's almost like you are lying on grass during a warm spring afternoon. It is fleeting. It is hopeful. It is filled with emotion. It is life in its most raw form. That is the pure genius of Debussy.

To give you guys a sad story: The girl next to Debussy is his daughter, Claude-Emma Debussy, named after her father and mother. Claude adored CE and would dedicate his music to her (such as Children's Corner). Claude died in 1918 from cancer, his daughter would die the following year from a medical mishap, she was only 14. It has been believed that perhaps her biggest role on earth was to inspire her father, and once he was gone she had to return back to the spiritual realm. I think that is silly but it's chilling to think about. On a side note, famed jazz pianist, Bill Evans was a big Debussy fan. If you have the time, listen to "Children's Play Song", perhaps that beautiful song is dedicated to one Claude-Emma Debussy too.

You know, I’m a pretty ill-tempered person, always full of hate, almost to the point I’m blinded by it. Music like this let’s me tap into my inner self, the most vulnerable side, wrapped in the hate filled persona I’ve come to develop through the years. I stop yelling, my back hurts less, my eyes turn watery and a deep feeling of sadness courses throughout my person. The utter sadness I experience makes me feel good, makes me feel at ease.

Deep and heavy. I don't know if I'll ever have a love again, for I am a male and it is my job to start one. I've been playing the arabesque s on my piano. Was taught them as a kid, came right back to me. Gotta get some more Debussy. I was flipping by this tennis match on the tube and these love birds were teasing each other in the stands with anticipation to a kiss but then would not do it yet. Poem which inspired this beautiful piece... On the lucerne midst flowers in bloom, Who sings praises to morning? It is the girl with golden hair, The beauty with lips of cherry. For, love, in clear summer sunlight, Has soared with the lark and sung now. Your mouth has such colours divine, My dear, so tempting to kisses. On grass in bloom, talk to me, please, Girl with fine curls and long lashes. For, love, in clear summer sunlight, Has soared with the lark and sung now. Do not say no, cruel maiden. Do not say yes. Better to know The long lasting gaze of your eyes And your rosy lips, oh, my belle. For, love, in clear summer sunlight, Has soared with the lark and sung now. Farewell, you deer, farewell you hares And the red partridge. I want To stroke the gold of your tresses Smothering lips with my kisses. For, love, in clear summer sunlight, Has soared with the lark and sung now.

It reminds me of a past time, love, or even a forgotten civilization. Love the way they accented 1948's 'Portrait of Jenny' with Jennifer Jones as Jenny and Jospeh Cotten as Eben. A young artist strives for inspiration and is bereft thereof until he meets a strange child whose clothes are not of his time. He quickly urges the child home but the funny thing is that each time they meet she is older and gives him news of her life that seems a distant past for him. Eventually, he finally meets her again and she is a lovely young woman and he finally sees in her his inspiration to paint the most beautiful portrait that he can. It is a supernatural story which leads the young man into whirlwind of confusion and eventual love that is tragically lost nearly costing him his life. Not a horror story but a story similar to 'Somewhere in Time' but predate the latter by 32 years. But I digress, I love "La fille aux cheveux de lin" Claude Debussy 1909/1910.

A lifelong favourite. Seven years ago a close friend passed away. Her partner asked me to recover her laptop which had crashed a few months before. I retrieved all the files but sadly there were no folders or proper file names, just thousands of 'documents' with numerical names. Scrolling through, I found myself thinking of her, and this music. Wondering what the files were, I clicked on one at random and hit preview. This played. Wondering if I'd hit a patch of music, or Debussy, or multiple copies of piece, I tried files below and above. Then others at random. They were text files, photos, system files. Non were music.

inspired by this poem, for any wondering: On the lucerne midst flowers in bloom, Who sings praises to morning?

This Debussy’s paramount masterpiece is an order of magnitude , and beyond compare. By the way In memory of Debussy's late beloved daughter , who is Shu Shu Without Debussy and his works' great performer like these performers , the classical music world would have been very lonely and insipid , and the enjoyment and pleasures of the classical music would have been less From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵 Proust , who is a French great author , deeply loved Debussy's works .
