Thank you so much for doing this….Can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent trying to determine if a book is “clean” or not only to start reading a book and then have to dnf it bc I encounter a smutty scene 🙄. So this is super helpful…please continue with these videos :) Also a really good YA series that’s mostly clean (there are a couple of passionate kissing scenes between 3 books) is the “Selection” series by Kiera Cass. Not Christian but YA dystopian romance and highly recommend

I love historical fiction and I don't mind steamy ones....but sometimes I just want a good clean romance like a Jane Austen. They're usually called "Proper romances". Best ones I've read so far: Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson A Lily in Disguise by Jessica Scarlett (AMAZING) Again, these aren't "Christian romances". Just clean ones. (Although I'm pretty sure Jessica Scarlett may have written some Christian romance also.)

I feel you so much! Its hard to find clean romances.I like the author Melanie Dickerson. Her books are catholic base though. Her books are base in the Medieval time period. 3rd Person point of view. She uses the King James version for scripture. I study from the king james so that is what keeps me reading. But it is enough suspense and drama with out all that inappropriate stuff. ❤

I liked 50 shades & all that. But once I started really getting more into Jesus, that stuff is out the window. Can't do it anymore. Also question, do you recommend any other Christian youtubers who love Christian books like you?

Hey your great!! I've been trying to bring more romance into my mode of living. For so long it's been all action and I recently got into reading books last year. What's great is I even viewed your video on the crass romance novels to which I can relate. I purchased a novel recently and threw it in the trash. It started out two people in an elevator and they only met for no more then a couple days worth which lead to them taking things all the way. Personally the timing was bad, I was trying to date and was looking for a relationship that's not just based on sex. Like don't get me wrong the intimacy is a great part especially if you really like one another, but I'd rather have a long term dating before jumping right to it - as though a fling. I may purchase "flowers in the winter".

For me, I don't think explicit romances lead me down a bad path (although I have steered clear of really awful ones always). I just dislike them intensely. Some things are more beautiful without all the words; they are not meant to be laid open on paper in black and white. That is not beautiful nor enjoyable; it actually demeans it. Honestly, even with something less intimate. Think of how you feel when you sit at the lakeside and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Can words ever really get you to that place? Now, simply referring to a beautiful sunset with all its glory and how it makes you feel inside written in a few words actually may evoke the memory of those feelings within you. But if an author were to go on at length trying to describe in endless words the sunset, it would begin to diminish the feeling rather than strengthen it. How much more so is this true for intimacy between two people?
