Another great video for new streamers and people learning OBS. As soon as I had my 2nd live event for a different service I ran into all of these needs. Great explanation of the differences between these different terms. Even simplified my understanding of Profiles which was slightly off. Thank you!

Cool video, learnt a bunch of new stuff. I try to have one scene with a source for every element and then build everything with scenes, not sources, after that. Every element is broken down to the smallest element in a scene and then the broadcast scenes are made up of scenes only. It seems like a PITA at first. But if everything is a scene you can easily make scene collection wide changes. So for example you can change your StreamLabs overlay just by changing the Streamlabs overlay scene and everything else remains the same. One key to getting this to work is understanding that you can apply different filters and transfoms to the same scene by placing them inside a group and doing the functions on the group.

Hey man. nice vid as always. Quick question if I may? That missing file part at the end ish. Do you remember how to turn it off. I Herd you talk about it in another video but can't find it. Please help. I just want OBS to start clean as I have it programmed to the stream deck. Running obs 27.1.3 as of this morning update. Thanks man.

I’ve learned a lot from u over the last year and a half in this time of Covid. My stream is still small but I’m pretty niche for specific reasons. This video is helpful in that I know I need to organize my workflow better but to be honest, this was overwhelming and too fast and furious for me. Is there a simpler and more basic workflow organizing video I missed somewhere? I’m a 40 viewer Andy with 1 camera, 6 or 8 scenes and my sources aren’t all that complicated. I guess I’m asking to be pointed to a less advanced or less complicated tips/suggestions video. Thoughts?

Not to sound mean, but no. Most of these tips are super simple stuff like renaming your scenes, there’s no real simplifying beyond that. If you need to learn more about scene nesting that’s here kzitem.info/news/bejne/tJlop52Mf5d1pm0

Something that I actually prefer while running a live stream (not a personal stream) is to use the Multiview. This is more of a studio look and the layout of your Scenes is more critical to keep things organized. My current setup is using 18 scene views plus Preview and Program. In this view however you must move your scenes on the main list to position them in the order that works for you. Using this method however will leave your main list a mess while providing a quick view of your primary scenes. You can change the live scene from this view and still run hotkeys, so this may be something else to play with when it comes to organizing with visuals and not just words.

I prefer to arrange the scenes in Grid rather than list. Is easier to find scenes and to pair it to a switcher like Streamdeck or Deckboard.

Hi EposVox, I really like your show about OBS streaming tips etc. Has a lot of good information. I do have one question about a script using python (Follow mouse and zoom). I have seen it working in windows system but I have never get it working with Linux (Ubuntu 20.04) due Python version difference in the system. I have tried to install older version of Python and switch it when I use the OBS but without any success. Error is that it keep telling me it is not founding the Pythons core components for controller (mouse and screen). I follow the GIT guide and I have confirmed component is installed. But OBS seems not to be able to find it.... Is there any chance to fix this, do any Linux user have experience to solve this problem? Sorry for a long boring message, but keep it up with the good show! (Maybe question is not in your expertise but someone else here may know how)
