A good strategy is to start with cleaning the pump filter, it improves the flushing out of the tubes. Then do a cleaning cycle with something like oxyclean, or any machine cleaning product with oxyaction. It dissolves grease, grime, left over detergent and softener better than vinegar. Then run a second cleaning cycle with vinegar or citric acid. You can even add a bit of extra water to make sure it flushes the gasket sufficiently. It should result in a very clean machine. My personal challenge is decluttering, it is so hard to muster up enough energy to do it all :- |

This video confirms to me why I will never buy a front load washer. I'm going to keep babying my 15 year old Maytag top loader for as long as possible!

I have 3 guinea pigs indoors and they have fleece bedding. I have a pet wash bag, and honestly I never have a problem with hair! It was around £12-14 from Amazon, it's proved it's worth, over and over again. 🙂. I highly recommend the pet wash-bag, your machine will thank you for it. I clean my machine regularly. My machine was behind an integrated door, so I removed it as I like to leave the machine door and drawer open to help keep it free of moisture and keep it fresh and dry.

Each time I do a load of towels, I do an extra rinse cycle with vinegar, that way my towels are free from soap, they become softer with the vinegar and it keeps my machine clean. I remove the fur carefully after my loads are done and leave the door and soap compartment open to dry the machine. Even with that, I have some mildew that I have to clean in the rim , I use a bit of bleach.

I bought second turkey baser to suck the water out mine, then wipe it all down and always leave the door ajar to air. Once a week I do spay oxyclean, inside the rubber ring, and do the Tide deep cleaning pods once a month. I have a Maytag front loader.

Hi Jamie I’m loving watching your videos. You have a wonderful physique. My daughter uses a magic bag you put your pet beds in and no hair comes out of it. We live in England . Maybe there’s something in America. She never gets and hairs in her machine at all.

I live in America now (10 years), previously UK for 9 years and grew up in Luxembourg prior. Never in over 30 years of living has a frontloader ever failed me or my family. I only knew toplaoders from American TV. Living in the US now, I have been despising having to make do with these ridiculous toploaders! I don't understand them. Clothes just get destroyed. Mine also constantly "takes off like a jet" and shakes the whole house (nope, not overloaded) and I am so sick of it. Some materials soak up so much water, machine can't spin and drain the excess. The amount of hand squeezing and reloading to spin again and again is very time consuming! I hate this American system. I can't wait to get a frontloader eventually, no matter what the husband says about them being crap. They are not. I have to clean the toploader too, just not as tedious.

For people with a Samsung front loader, mine came with a locking filter similar to what you showed in the video that requires pushing in as you turn. There is a replacement part that isn't a locking filter and will make getting to that filter in the future when you finally get it open :). I didn't have the right strength to open that thing.

Anyone else think - this is insane, no way. I guess I’ll just have clothes that are less clean. Oh well. Cleaning the vacuum is bad enough for me!
