Excellent video. I bought a cheap lens spanner/wrench which made the task easy.

THanks! I just did the cleaning of the front element following your procedure. We have two of these lens, and one had a large piece of lint that was a problem.

I had an accident and I dropped my camera into the water (D750). The camera is working fine but there's water inside the lens. I had the same answer as you, they don't want to open it. I'll let you know when I open it.

i think your problem is in your camera sensor not on the lens :)
@photographyjapan

Nope. I already cleaned the sensor.. the dirt was visible inside the lens..
@Kruemelkraft

hmmm...have you made test images after cleaning the sensor? I really cannot imagine that dirt on the front element of your lens can cause those spots. They would be much more diffuse. For me, too, this rather looks like dust on the sensor.

I tried to open it up, but I couldn’t remove the ring with the round holes. It was stuck. In the end I gave up to prevent damage. But thanks anyway for the great video!
