Value of the 455 diesel all wheel drive is still 6k to 7k in 2024, I bought mine used for 14k in 1997 around that time. With the 72 inch deck. Best mower ever.

I live in central Wisconsin, cold winters, summer time with a new battery it’s instant start, I’ve had mine over 20 years, it goes through batteries 4 to 5 years.

Something you should think about is using Meguiars Hot Stuff hot foam. On the plastic Dash on your floorboards. Don't use the Hot Shine cuz it's really slippery. But you can use it on anything Rubber and it'll make it look like new. Tires Etc and it also helps keep the dirt from staining the plastic or rubber.

I’ve got to find a newer deck for my 445. It’s got some bad putting from previous owner. The decks are big money especially the 60” like I have

Decks are certainly out there. Keep a watch on Craigslist and other sales sites and you should be able to find a 60" deck over the winter... which is the best time to buy :D !

I got a 455 this May and it is amazing. I loved my 318 but this 455 blows it out of the water. My dash is still in great shape but could use a cleaning inside. Once out can the faceplate pop off to clean?

I have 13 John Deere garden tractors for sale

My collection of John Deere’s includes 2 318s, 1 317, 316, and 314. how would you recommend I go about selling them? Some are operational, some are not.

Rarely would it ever be good to sell them together. I’d recommend getting each running, if feasible, then sell one at the time. Bulk purchases mean a huge discount.

Is there no risk to use the high pressure cleaner at electrical parts. I just like to do the same on my 455 but i am a little bit afraid of it?
@mmrbeef

In my experience, as long as I am aware of what I am doing and keep the pressure washer from hitting parts that might not like what in them, everything works fine.

@@mmrbeef ok thats fine. Last question about this. Which cleaning supply did you used for it? And is this a special Foam Sprayer or a normal pressure sprayer?

Where did you buy the instrument cluster and how much? If the temperature gauge doesn’t work how can one tell if it is the sensor or the gauge?
@mmrbeef

I picked it up off eBay (which is a bit unusual for me). You should be able to test the sensor plus I think the sensor it pretty cheap. I'd have to look around for the sensor test procedure.

For me, if you're gonna own one of these, you need to invest $25 and get the Technical Manual for it. It's been invaluable so far.

The new dash panel looks great! How do you count up the hours?

I just started over at 0. I still have the old cluster and if I sell the machine the cluster will go with it.

@@mmrbeef You can switch the hour meter inside of the dash. I did it when I replaced the cluster on my 455 so the hour meter would stay accurate.
