Usually you just see endless videos of people shredding the impossible, which is great, but it can also be intimidating and discouraging. Seeing this approach is so refreshing and inspiring. Subscribed, and I had fun watching! Keep it going. 😊

Aw thank you so much! I haven't come across many MTB progression channels, but when I do, it's as you said, it's inspiring... Really gives you motivation! I'm not saying watching amazing riders isn't motivating either but it's a breath of fresh air seeing people progress 🙂

Awesome to see some content of someone else thats starting out. Here's a tip that immediately changed the way I hit jumps. When you get halfway up the jump just a foot or so from the lip push the bars down and stand up vertical. It gave me so much confidence. You're doing awesome BTW

Hey fellow beginner! How's it going for you? That is a great tip! I've mentioned it in one of my older videos but there's a "how to jump" by Loam Ranger, I'd definitely check that out if you haven't already :D and thank you so much!

Seemed to me you were gaining on that guy with the red jacket in front of you. And you told him he was flying, can you imagine what you were doing. You had quite some airtime too. 👍

The one in the red jacket was a woman I met at the park :) we did a couple of trails together which was great!! Yeah i definitely felt like I was getting more airtime, the landing on the first two jumps went so smoothly as well, felt awesome!

First seeing this video, I initially thought you were a young boy with unusually good commentary skills (no offense intended). It's great to watch someone who is a fellow beginner as well as being nice to listen to talk

Enjoying your videos. If you fancy a change of park head up to Dare Valley @ Aberdare which has one gravity trail with a few options and some skills areas plus pump track. You can book an uplift or just pedal for free. Nice chilled place, café, loos etc. Riding with others will always push you and help you improve so also worth hooking up with other at parks. Keep up the great work!

Weird coincidence because I was so nervous to go out on my bike when I first started that I was going to go to Dare Valley, but the week before I saw a post saying it was closed... Turned out the people that run the place had to stop operating there, I didn't know you could still use the trails though so it's definitely on my list to go to, thank you for reminding me :D Everyone I've met at the parks so far have been really friendly :)

@@flynnrow Sorry yep just search it out and PedalAway (the people who run FoD site) have given up. I was there earlier in the year 'on bike park tour' such a shame I really had a great time on the uplift and some great XC riding from the area.

Ah that's a right shame, although I think another company will be taking over... Don't quote me on that though! I'll definitely take a look at Dare Valley in the coming weeks though :D

good footage Flynn, I wish I could be out riding but its over 100+ out so getting up @ 6am to go riding trails gives me about an hour or so before its 80++. oh well ill wait till winter i guess.

Over 100?? Jeez, I struggle going out at 20c (68f) here 😩 it's a shame that certain times of the year stop you being able to do what you enjoy doing!

awesome runs flynn! I personally prefer this view over the helmet mounted angle. I like the lower view n being able to see the front of your bike on the trail.... especially on jammin with the jumps! 😁 i wish i could go out while its wet, i just dont wanna have to deal with the aftermath gettin the bike back in the house 😥
@flynnrow

Thank you for the input on the camera angle, I do agree with you, I like seeing more of the bike, I can also see how I take the corners/berms more which helps! Yeah it's a pain when the bike gets dirty, I'm fortunate where I don't have to drag mine through the house, but I do have to put it in my car to take it home 😅 any plans on going out soon??

@@flynnrow well i put in for time off tues & wed next week, if they give me it ill hopefully get out on the bike then. Still need to go back to the shop too, cos the knee n elbow pads i got were too wee… need to swap em for a bigger size lol 😆

Aw I completely understand about the knee and elbow pads, I bought a xs/s for knee pads and had to buy new ones (different brand) which were a LARGE!! I have the elbow pads in a small as well which I may need to change as they're pretty tight! Do you have Monday and Tuesday off??

I will find out tonight if they are gonna gie me it aff. though I did actually get out on new bike on Saturday, was fun. even though they are more family friendly tracks with them being right by the town. with green and blue routes, there is a red one... but other than one or two small sections which u can opt out of and go around its probably only red because of the ascents. so nothing like the ones you have. still scare the pants aff me mind you 🤣 another downside to being right by the town, there was people WALKING down the trails (which are clearly signposted as bike trails). I came round a bend at speed n almost went over a bloody dog! just aboot impaled masel of a tree avoiding it 🤬
@flynnrow
Жыл бұрын
I'm so late to this but did they give you it off?! That's not bad at all, at least you have some near you 😁 did you end up trying the red one? You'll have to take a picture or something so I can see the trails you have there! Walking down the trails? That's not good at all, and extremely frustrating (especially if it's sign posted to not walk on them)! When I went to Dirt Farm last weekend, on my last run there were people walking UP the trail and didn't even apologise, I was PISSED

I just Googled it, it looks lovely! I'm trying to find more local trails around where I live, found a lovely one today but the rain made it so slippery! A full sus makes it a lot smoother, a friend of mine recently bought one and he has 0 regrets on getting it!
