Also, epoxy is much cheaper and more solid than polyaspartic. Epoxy is like glass and poly is like rubber in the way it can flex and stretch. So when your floor cracks in a year poly wont crack with it, just stretch. And the flake is about $9 a pound (canadian) and comes in those brown 45 or 50 pound boxes the one guy is carrying.

@Joel England: Yours is just to not leave the one color looking epoxy... This one is full cast flaked floor, they need to scrape evenly the whole floor to not leave sharp flakes standing and vacuum it for the excess flakes, then recheck for any misspots and redo those little spots if any, with a lil bit of flakes and with the clear sealer that you are gonna use for the last coat to seal it. PS: Sorry, your floor look good too, of course is waay simpler to do... 1st: Prep the floor, grind it preference. 2nd: Apply the epoxy, the color you choose, sprinkle the color flakes. 3rd: Second day, Sanding needed for any sharp flakes standing, clear sealer needed to extend the longevity of the nice looking epoxy flooring with dots of color flakes 😄...👍

@Joel England, you and your father did what we call in the Biz a sporadic flake system, where you still see the background coat. When I was just a kid, this type floor was invented. They called it TORGENOL. My Dad had an outdoors fishing hunting radio and television show, so he was going to advertise for them, for the floor. They came out and installed a NEW PRODUCT, called Particle Board, and then used a squeegie to shove the resin down, then sprinkled what he called oatmeal, eggshell and gold-flek and let it dry till the next day. Then he came out and ground it down and vacuumed it. Then he spread another heavy coat of his resin. The next day he sanded it down and rolled the last coat on it. We had to stay off of it for 5 more days. It stayed good till I was in my upper 50's when I had to raise the laundry room floor to meet the kitchen floor, for handicapping purposes for my wife. I went back with the same stuff, but the floor company had been sold numerous times. They changed their resin to more like syrup than resin. You have to use more coats, but its holding up great. I've got ten years of heavy traffic and its holding up well ! Bill, from Tn. 🇺🇸

For all the people saying that’s too much flake that’s because all the Home Depot diy kits give you a little bag and tell you to do a “partial flake” I do these floors for a living and a proper epoxy flake is a “Full flake system” the chips are the decorative aspect to these floors there’s t hounds of colors and combos you can do to make them your own floors. A lot of people are just looking for a quick cheap fix and get the crap they sell anywhere and it peels up in two years or less. We on the other hand offer a 15 year warranty because we can back our products up.

That is all true man. When I had a job doing this and decorative epoxy flooring/countertops you didn't see wet spots when you got done flaking the floor.
