Dear God, everyone knows that trial was a sham. Leonard is innocent but was put in jail as an "example." I've been following this case from the beginning with an aching heart. Over and over his case has been brought up and over and over it's been ignored and buried again. A lot of talk...no action. He is a true martyr and we will NEVER forget.

My life is my Sundance was one of the first books I read about indigenous culture in the Americas and it really touched a nerve in a good way. I talked about him as often as I can at the museum where I work and try to share his story with others because I think it is so important the people understand indigenous human beings are not treated with the same dignity as others or afforded the same courtesies as white people.

Although it is tragic Leonard, Dennis, and Dick Wilson maybe victims of the boarding school, it is the Federal Bureau of Investigation that singled out Leonard. The FBI was determined to make someone pay for the deaths of their agents. The FBI needs to step up and admit the agency made mistakes and make things right. #FreeLeonardPeletier

It will never happen. I really hate to say that but I know that it will never happen. Leonard will never be released. There is no clemency for what he is or once fought for. This isn't about innocence or guilt, right or wrong. It's about what you believe. We are not the same them. This is about freedom and salvation. Leonard is the scapegoat for us. He's being made as an example like other people have said. The government and their fbi are of one mind. You should think about what they're capable of still doing to our people. You're all right bout one thing this war isn't over if native people still keep bringing it up. There isn't such a thing as a peaceful protest. They will take your freedom from you by incarceration or imprisonment. They have that power to do that. We don't have any power over the government. That's very clear. 😮 So really think about things, so think about it it. And hopefully you'll realize the truth CHILDREN LEARN WHAT THEY LIVE which becomes their identity. 8:30

My sister E, before her death from cancer, as an administrative director for a county agency.....forced the removal of at least the cross from the missions from the county emblem. She wanted the missions removed. They are but symbols of work camps, and concentration camps as they were called in Germany. It is time for the humans of the world to stop this continued cover over of the abuse of people living in any area. Even when some rich developer decides to land GRUB up homes to create more homes for the homeless problems to be reduced.......in the same county, to force people out of their homes, cities, and communities for GREED of others, often foreign investors......it is time for us ALL to get a clue and a better world for all.

Ignorance is a convenience that white society likes to use to continue their efforts at genocide on indigenous peoples. The very legal representation states that he believed the abuses of indigenous Americans was “a thing of the late 17th or 18th century”. The other key factor that has prevented his release is the fact that the FBI, therefore the Federal Government itself, would have to ADMIT it was wrong in not only this instance of treatment toward a single indigenous person, but also WRONG in ALL THE VIOLATIONS OF OVER 400 “treaties” made with indigenous Americans. I don’t foresee such an admission ever possible due to the ingrained nationalism & frontier mentality that has always had support of the population of the United States. This policy is demonstrated in the statement: “Kill the Indian, save the (hu)man”
