The specification for the RTC in the CLICK C0-1x series is a possible drift of 100s per month. Additionally, the cycle for updating RTC data to the SD register is 1s. Therefore, there is an error of 1s ± 1s in the timing of the display of data in the SD Register. This information has been updated today. Regards, Garry

Excellent video, thanks! Do you know if leap-years are taken into account?

Hi @frikkied2638 Thank you for the comment. I am not exactly sure if leap years are taken into account with the Click PLC. If this is important then I would use the Click PLUS PLC with the network time service (NTP or SNTP). Here is a post and video on how this is set up. kzitem.info/news/bejne/kYyi16NuqWKndn4 accautomation.ca/click-plus-real-time-clock-setup-and-use/ I hope this helps you out. Regards, Garry

Hi Osseo, Thanks as always for the comment. We do plan on using the RTC for the BRX Do-More PLC as well as the Productivity Series. In the new year, the RTC will be used in the PLC to help develop a logging program to a database using Node-Red. Regards, Garry

Shouldn't DST be handled by the firmware? For my application, the PLC is mounted on a truck and is powered by a generator while operating (a diesel filtration pump truck). This generator will be off at 02:00 hours, the PLC will not be running at that "time change moment". Do you have an elegant solution for this application? I do have a StrideLinx WiFi router. Is there a method to sync with internet time? Thank you again, Garry, for all of your excellent videos/website, and all of your email answers to my questions. You have helped me more than I can thank you!

Hi Robert de Boer, Thank you for the comments. I am glad you found the videos and website helpful. The DST cannot be handled by the firmware because not all regions follow daylight savings time. You can sync to the internet time using Network Time Service (NTS). However, this will only sync your time with UTC (Universal Time Coordinate) and does not account for DST in the area. This is still left to the individual machine to be set for the region. Many corporations will just use the UTC instead of DST for the area. I hope this helps you out. Regards, Garry
