@@stephanied4863 it's a complicated issue. Appropriate attire is such a subjective and personal thing that has so much baggage dragged along with it. For example, why is wearing a bikini to the pool perfectly acceptable but showing your bra is public indecency. Teens are, as a rule, very vulnerable about their bodies, their clothing, and their personal expression and making harsh judgements about their clothing choices and enforcing your standards on them tends to make them hyper self-conscious. I tend to think it's better to just let teens experiment with their appearance and find their own comfort zones, over enforcing one's own comfort on others.

My friends brother was in town visiting after finishing basic training. He went with us on one of our dress shopping trip. After the umpteenth store he said “I’ve had to learn to sew my uniforms. It is, by the way, not necessary to only produce taylorings that look good on very skinny people, who are in minour, and just size them up. This cannot work because bodies do not change in the same proportions than just upsizing of clothes does.

I have yet to see any comments about weight. I only see comments about the tasteful alterations and the stunning final appearance. Besides, there's clothing styles best suited to a type of weight. Very skin tight clothing is best for very trim bodies, but voluminous folds and elegant draping cloth looks quite poor on those very same trim, slender bodies. (The infamous Angelina Jolie at the Oscars comes to mind; the large skirt snd draping nature if her dress made her seem positively boney and skeletal, but on a larger woman, it would've been extravagant.) Clothing is like haircuts. You must work with the face shape and hair type you have to get the most flattering look.

Replacing the front mesh with red would define the shape of the gorgeous beadwork and show it off better *and* allow her to wear a bra that gives her some lift instead of the way the mesh is kinda squashing her girls a bit and making them look a little saggy. Or even just switching the mesh out and replacing it with some high end lace would have been better IMHO. I just do not like mesh. It always looks tacky, like those clear plastic bra straps girls used to wear when I was in high school.

I mean it's prom, why dress code girls for stuff like this? It's not like it's 'distracting' from class or whatever lame excuse they use to punish girls

You do really good work. That dress came out beautifully and totally flattered this young queen.

You really are doing god's work for these ladies. So many times do women order dresses online and it comes in being completely different. You are able to take their dream idea and make it a reality. These women look gorgeous.

You did an amazing job! But that central mesh borders on inappropriate for prom

The kids these days love flesh 😅 this is traditional sexy, and is MILD compared to some stuff on the internet. You’d be flabbergasted to see what these 17/18 yr old high school kids are wearing and doing for prom.

No they aren’t. You just don’t like them. Great thing it isn’t your dress or your body.

@@jacforswear18 Yes it is but thanks to the media and shows like euphoria where Alexa Demie who is like 28 year old woman is playing a teenage girl wearing club attire to school lol. I grew up with gossip girl and despite everything they still managed to look age appropriate. When I went to prom around 2010-2011 no girl wore a dress with a plunging neckline like that. TBH the mesh did not really hide anything so what was even the point of having fabric there honestly

Thank you. I thought I was the only one thinking this! No one else seems to mind but I think it is far too revealing for a sixteen year old. I think it also looks a little tacky.

I’m sorry but how are we ok with teenagers dressing in such an exposed way. So many dresses are now essentially transparent lingerie with a train 😕
