@@HandledToaster2 For me it would be Escape From Tarkov. I don't even play it, but I never would've thought you could make such a beautiful game in Unity. The first time I saw it I was even fooled by it, thinking it was made in CryEngine.
@Cyberfoxxy
3 жыл бұрын
To be fair, Unity actually has a lot of problems that has persisted for a long time. And the introduction of new ones caused by sloppy management. Remember that ShaderEditor that all competitors had, but in Unity you needed to cough up 100 bucks for ShaderForge. Remember dark theme? We got both now, but it's 20 years too late man. And then there's the online DRM, even though the Unity is a free product, you're forced to login to even launch the editor. Lastly... the Asset Store experience. Jesus Christ. There's Unreal engine but afaik i know it's not very friendly to programmers. Godot seems like a good competitor. Except they adamantly refuse to add node search.

Ok WOW, that's very impressive ! So much so that I have a few questions to ask ! I'm trying to make a "free" climbing system like Zelda Botw, my first idea was to use a climbing system similar to a spider, using the "spherecast". but one thing was missing, I couldn't get that "clamp" effect, where the distance between the player and the wall is constant. In some situations where the surface is really complex, the spherecast "hesitates" between several rotations. (and I'm sure this is not due to my calculations to get the angle from the normal). So.... do you also use spherecast? and how do you get this "clamp" on the surface effect? I tell you again well done for this very great result !
