Every time I go downtown I see the old B&OCT bridge locked fully upright next to the Charles Airline, well now that I know what it's a remnant of, I wonder if it's still possible for the bridge to move on it's own power or if the mechanisms were intentionally sabotaged to keep it upright.

When most draw bridges go abandoned, its standard procedure to lock them in the upright position, in case a boat came along after the bridge was abandoned.
