Mount Toubkal, or Jebel Toubkal, is the highest mountain in Morocco and North Africa and the summit sits at an elevation of 4167 metres. The summit attempt is a solid high level hike in summer but is far trickier in winter when temperatures near the peak can reach -15c and snow and ice is treacherous. I saw this challenge as a fitting next step on my adventure journey, pushing myself past my previously defined limits and finding out what I’m really made of! I found the descent incredibly tough and did suffer from a level of altitude fatigue. This was all worth it though for the satisfaction of the challenge.
I highly recommend our guide Mohamed, who features in this video. If you are interested in him guiding you on a Toubkal trek you can contact him on his mobile +212 662-358661
