Wonderful to see two parents letting their kids explore, and two kids so curious and interested in the past. Perhaps two future historians there. Well done, Mom and Dad.

I am a New Zealand Maori with a surname that is from Monaghan. I near exploded with a pride I never thought I could have, now knowing that it IS a (Monaghanian??) That wrote God defend New Zealand, Thomas Bracken. WOW!!!! Thank you for a trip around Clones town. With so many generations away (x3-4) who fled Ireland because of the famine to England, transport to van diemans land (now Tasmania) eventually to Taranaki NZ. It is so beautiful to hear the young voices so invested in your story. And thankfully, minus the dangerous times that you would have had to live through! I'm not too religious. But, if God does defend NZ, then (with pride in my heart) may GOD BLESS IRELAND. Thanks mate!

What a lovely town. I have a friend who grew up in Clones and sometimes tells stories about his childhood there. Now I have some pictures to go with his narrative. I live in the U.S. and this has been like a small vacation. Thank you so much for posting this video.

Thanks for the step back in time. I used to visit Clones as wee 'un. I remember the Roost Bar and think there was a chippy / restaurant called Stewarties just up from it. I also recall there was a gallery / paint shop just off from the Diamond that had a massive portrait of Barry McGuigan in the shop window.

This is amazing. I just found out that my husband's ancestors were from here. Their surname was Kelso. He may have relatives there still. His people ended up in Alexandria, Louisiana in the US. I'm curious as to the why and how of this history. Thank you for sharing.
