Close is honestly better for me, I’m way more explosive with it. I benched my pr with close grip for 2 reps. Only downside is my elbows hurt after a heavy lift

This is true and I love how this dude brought out his up because my friend likes to do close grip bench and really focus on more triceps and chest while I love to do wider almost touching like the end of the bar and focusing more on shoulders and chest

I have very long arms. Trainer said wide grip. Got constant right shoulder pain and cramps. Moved in 4 inches so pinky is on the ring marker, shoulder problems stopped.

Wide grip is better for 1 Rep max. Smaller Rom, more pec engagement and power. But higher Reps with wide grip will fuck your wrists up

so like im 280 at 16 and I'm gonna try power lifting my deadlift is 600 with straps my squat is 500 but my bench 225 at most and as soon as a tried a wider grip I was benching 280 bro idk wtf I was thinking benching close grip also I know my bench is shit for my weight I'm tryin man

Close grip isn’t just triceps and wide grip isn’t just chest. If anything close grip benefits the chest greatly because of the extra ROM, which makes it stronger.

@@ImJamesaa no shit... Lmao. Close grip hits chest as a secondary muscle group while being triceps focused exercise. Vice versa for wide grip... Almost all exercises you seen done have secondary muscle groups being activated during the lift.

I found close grip builds muscle and strength more but wide grip is best at displaying strength

I only do thumbs-length on all bench and overhead pre$$ing movements. It is my favorite grip. Sometimes i go even closer. Never pass the knurl@smooth.
