Jess, after catching up on your videos I have finally subscribed, as I don’t want to miss your videos. I echo missfilemom’s sentiments. I have tried indie patterns and I find many of them with horrible instructions. Your honest, blunt comments are to be commended, as I have found many you tubers praise and praise patterns which turn out to be a nightmare, so kudos to you.

I just ordered this pattern yesterday and I’m very happy to find you! I love the boho vibe of this dress, it’s similar to one I wore in high school in the 70’s that has gone down in my history of dresses as my favorite dress of all times! I’ve heard this waist runs small on this pattern. Your demo here and explanations are very clear, you’ve given us some “head’s up” warnings with this pattern and I appreciate that. I once sewed most of my clothes but children and work edged sewing out of my life. I’m picking it back up again but I’m rusty. You’re very encouraging. Thank you!

Ya, belt confusing. Not sure I did it right. But it will work. I also had more space on one end than the other like you did on facings. I may let the middle back seam out a bit. If I do again will not do a full 5/8 seam.

"The pattern pieces are logistical documents" 😂👍🏼I agree about the size of writing, and the numbering of steps👏🏼

So! With a circle skirt hem you fold it back on itself and then shrink the fabric with steam from your iron. There is a great tutorial in the DK sewing book and i can definitely film one at some point if its useful ☺️

I so agree with you that the instructions in Closet core are not the best. People need to be honest when pattern testing instead of just praising instructions that don’t make sense. It took me a year to figure out how to sew Kalle shirt. No comment.

Hi Jess, Isn't it double work, sewing then using your overlocker over everything g. Why not use as much if your overlocker to cut and sew first ? Why don't you sew the side seams with the searger ? I'm asking as I want yo buy an overlocker now.

Is there a way to make the overlap on the skirt wider so that it doesn’t fall open when you sit? Would a snap ruin the drape?
@SoWhatIfISew

I would say a snap would probably ruin the drape but you could put a tie/length of fabric to connect the two halves?

I'm making this at the moment, it's taking me so long as my fabric is so slippy, I'm having to hand sew seams before sewing 🙄
